Official description of the call

I. OBJECT The Department of Culture calls for the twentieth time the “Godella i el seu entorn” Quick Painting contest, to be held on April 27, 2024, continuing with a project that has helped expand the municipal art gallery and get to know our municipality throughout the territory. III. FINANCING These prizes will be covered by budget item 334-48001 "Culture Awards" of the Godella City Council Budget approved for the 2024 financial year, with a total amount of €3,500.00. Payment of these prizes will be made by bank transfer to the checking account of the winner or authorized representative, although it will be subject to the corresponding tax withholdings. The following prizes are established based on the categories of the contest: 1. CATEGORY A: People over 16 years of age. The following prizes will be awarded by the Godella City Council: - Prize for the 1st best work: €1,000 - Prize for the 2nd best work: €500 - Prize for the 3rd best work: €300 - Local artist prize: €500 All of them will require the delivery of the winning work. In addition, the following financial awards are established, which will not require the delivery of work: - Purchasing bag for fine arts materials worth €300, sponsored by the Godella City Council, consisting of 2 prizes of €150 each, to be used in the “El Almacén” store in Godella. - Purchasing bag for fine arts materials worth €150, sponsored by Godella's Fine Arts material store “El Almacén de Bellas Artes”, to be used in the same store (Calle Abadía 19, 46110-Godella). 2. CATEGORY B: Youth, up to and including 16 years of age. The following prizes will be awarded by the Godella City Council: - First prize: endowed with €200 - Two second prizes: endowed with €100 each. IV. PARTICIPANTS: Participation in this contest is open to anyone. Two categories are established according to ages. 1. CATEGORY A: All people over 16 years of age can apply. All Category A prizes established in these rules are eligible. 2. CATEGORY B: People up to and including 16 years of age can apply. And they will only be eligible for the youth award section, with 3 awards in total. In order to participate, they will have to attach the authorization of the father, mother or guardian. Applicants for the awards will have to meet the following requirements: Be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations. Not incur any of the circumstances that make it impossible to obtain the status of beneficiary, according to article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, LGS. VI. PLACE, DEADLINES AND METHOD OF PRESENTATION: The registration of artists in both category A and category B and the sealing of the frames will be on the same day of the contest, April 27, 2024, Saturday, at the Villa Eugenia Art Center (c/ Peset Aleixandre, 44), from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The works in both categories will be presented unsigned and their collection will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same place where they were registered. They must include the identification number assigned at the time of registration, with which you participate, as well as the seal of the City Council. VII. COMPETITION CONDITIONS: Each artist will have freedom of technique and support. The topic will be: GODELLA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS. The jury will have special consideration for those artists who choose places that have not previously been painted as the subject of their works. Category A participants: The size of the works will not be less than 10 F (46 x 55 cm.) and for registration they will be presented in a uniform color and on a frame. At the time of registration, artists must complete a form with their personal data in order to be able to identify local artists at the end of the process of scoring the works by the Jury. Category B participants: Up to a maximum of three drawings per child will be admitted. The minimum size to participate is DIN A-3 format (29x42cm). Participants are free to use the technique and support they wish (separately or mixed) The artists authorize their names to be published in the different media.
