Call for XXIII Edition of the Alberic National Trumpet Competition

Official description of the call

PURPOSE: Promotion, improvement and musical technique of the Trumpet instrument. REQUIREMENTS: Any Trumpet player may participate, both from the Spanish State and from outside it, and they will have to be studying at least a professional music degree or have already completed it. There will be no maximum number of participants. The order of registration for the Contest will be respected. There must be a minimum number of 2 people in each category in order to hold the competition in that category. The Trumpet Competition is divided into two categories: MIDDLE GRADE CATEGORY / PROFESSIONAL GRADE CATEGORY: For those students who are enrolled in the intermediate or professional grade. HIGHER GRADE CATEGORY: For those students who are enrolled in the higher grade or have already completed it. CATEGORIES AND WORKS: Two categories: Medium Grade and Higher Grade. Thursday, July 4 at 6:00 p.m. semi-final of the contest. Friday, July 5 at 6:30 p.m. end of the contest. In the semi-final, each person competing will be able to perform a freely chosen piece that does not exceed 10 minutes in length. In the final, the Intermediate Grade contestants will be able to choose to perform the first beat of Neruda's Eb concerto or the Aroutunian concerto. In the Higher Grade you can choose to perform the 1st beat of the Oskar Böhme Concerto or the 1st beat of the Chaynes concerto, the 1st part of Concertino de Julivet or the 1st beat of the H Tomasi concerto. The final will be performed with piano. A maximum of 5 contestants per category will be eligible to compete in the final of the contest. AWARD OF PRIZES: FOUR PRIZES (2 CATEGORIES): FIRST PRIZE HIGHER CATEGORY, €500 SECOND PRIZE HIGHER CATEGORY, €300 FIRST PRIZE MIDDLE GRADE CATEGORY, €300 SECOND PRIZE MIDDLE GRADE CATEGORY, €200 BUDGET CREDIT: €1,300 CHARGED TO THE BUDGET APPLICATION 334.48225 “TRUMPET CONTEST” PERIOD FOR SUBMISSION OF REGISTRATIONS: From the day after publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia and until July 3, 2024. Registration for the Contest will have to be made through a standard application request addressed to the Mayor's Office – Presidency of the City Council of Alberic, indicating the following contact information: Name, surname, date of birth and course in which you are enrolled, photocopy of your DNI, proof of payment of the public registration fee and the documents that give rise to possible bonuses. REGISTRATION PRICE: The public registration price for the Trumpet Competition will be applied based on the agreement adopted by the Local Government Board of the Alberic City Council on April 27, 2022. General: 100 euros Registered for any Trumpet improvement course in the current course: 5 euros Members of the Alberic Musical Union: Free CONTEST JURY: The competent body for the evaluation of the musical performances will be the Jury, and will be chaired by the Mayor or councilor to whom it has been delegated, and will also be made up of: Vicent Campos, International Concert Artist. José Martínez Colomina, professor at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia. Ricardo Ortega, professor at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia. Member of the competition tribunal Francisco José Sanz Risueño, trumpet teacher and Vice Director of the Carcaixent Professional Conservatory. Soloist of the Chamber Orchestra of the Zaragoza auditorium, Enigma group. Professor and member of the court. Sergio Pérez: Soloist of the Universal Symphony Orchestra and professor at the Carcaixent Professional Conservatory Each member of the jury may award from zero to ten points, accepting fractions of half a point, to each person participating in the competition, and will assess the aspects of tuning, sound, interpretation and technique of both the obligatory and the free work. The total rating will be the sum of the scores given to each member. This jury may declare any of the prizes void, or grant any second prize if it deems appropriate.
