RESOLUTION OF JULY 30, 2024, OF THE CENTER FOR SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH, BY WHICH THE "NATIONAL PRIZE FOR SOCIOLOGY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE 2024" IS CALLED.

Official description of the call

First. Purpose The National Prize for Sociology and Political Science is announced for the year 2024, which will be awarded. The Prize will be awarded as a distinction to those people who, through their academic, scientific and professional career, have contributed to the advancement of Sociology and Political Science. Second. Endowment. The award for the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science will be 25,000.00 euros, allocated entirely to the winner, without the amount being divided. It will be financed from application 13,104,462M,481 of the Expenditure Budget of the Sociological Research Center. Third. Regulatory Bases. Order PJC/620/2024, of June 19, which approves the regulatory bases for the granting by the Sociological Research Center of the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science. Room. Presentation deadline. The deadline for the presentation of candidatures will be one month, and will begin to be counted from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official State Gazette, except for the proposals made by the members of the Jury, which may be formulated directly during the first meeting held for the award of the Prize. Fifth. Presentation of candidatures. All institutions, organizations, public or private foundations and university faculties or departments linked to the branches of knowledge of Sociology and Political Science may propose candidatures for the Award, as well as at least three professors of the aforementioned disciplines, and, finally, the members of the designated Jury. In the case of professors, the signatories must be people different from the person to whom the candidacy refers, and may be active professors, emeritus professors or retired professors. The nomination proposals must be submitted to the associated Electronic Headquarters of the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts (https://mpr.sede.gob.es/) in the case of all subjects authorized to present candidatures for this Award except members of the Jury and professors, who may present them through any of the means provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. The candidate proposals submitted must include: The merits of the candidates, reflected through their research, teaching and professional career, as well as other merits that have contributed to the advancement of Sociology and Political Science. The personal data of the proposed candidates that allow their notification. Sixth. Award delivery and justification. The Award will be presented at a public event convened for this purpose, which will be given the appropriate significance, solemnity and publicity, preferably in a location notable for its relationship with the world of Sociology and Political Science, with a specific commemorative award being given to the winner. The Prize will be considered justified by the mere fact of receipt thereof after its award.
