Call for the 1st Comic and Graphic Novel Contest against Climate Change. Environmental Education Classroom of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Year 2024

Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries. All people who meet the following requirements may participate in this call: 1. Belong to the UCLM university community, current or who have been in any academic year since 2021/2022 (inclusive). For these purposes, the following are considered to belong to the university community: - Students, including those from Erasmus and similar programs - Graduates from the 2021/2022 academic year - Teaching and research staff - Administration and service staff - Students of the Alumni and Major and International Program with a UCLM agreement. 2. Not be subject to any of the prohibitions to obtain the status of beneficiary included in art. 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies. The beneficiary must be up to date with their legal, tax and Social Security obligations. Second. Object. Financial aid is provided with the purpose of promoting the dissemination and awareness of climate change through the First Edition of the comic and graphic novel contest on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day against Climate Change 2024. Comics and graphic novels that deal with climate change and that raise awareness, sensitize and provide knowledge on this matter may be presented. The main characters of the works must be of their own creation and unpublished. The format of the work will be: JPG file with maximum quality. The file color mode must be RGB; 300 dpi (pixels/inches) resolution; name: The file name must correspond to the name of the work; Format: Numbered and ordered pages. Arrangement of the vignettes in the traditional Western way (from left to right and from front to back); Extension: each work will have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 pages (single-sided) in a single vertical DIN A4 format (210 x 297 mm). Each participant may present only one work. Works that address the topic from a perspective of denial of scientifically accepted facts will not be admitted. Works that have been awarded or previously published by any means will not be admitted. Third. Regulatory bases. Regulatory bases that form part of the full text of the call. Room. Amount of aid. The budget for this call amounts to 900 euros. The gross amount of the prizes is: first prize: €500 euros; second prize: 400 euros. Fifth. Application submission deadline. The application submission period will remain open from the signing of the call until October 18, 2024.
