Official description of the call
Announcement from the Most Excellent Valencia City Council on the extract of the Agreement of March 14, 2025 of the Local Government Board of the Valencia City Council, by which the call for the “Ciudad de València” literary awards is approved in its XLIII edition, 2025. In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (https://www.infosubvenciones.es/bdnstrans/GE/es/convocatoria/820504): First. Beneficiaries: Natural persons who are not subject to any of the prohibition causes to obtain the status of beneficiaries established in article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies and meet the rest of the requirements provided for in the call, may participate in the “Ciutat de València” literary awards. Second. Purpose: This edition includes the following modalities: Isabel de Villena Narrative Prize in Valencian, Vicente Blasco Ibáñez Narrative Prize in Spanish, María Beneyto Poetry Prize in Valencian, Juan Gil-Albert Poetry Prize in Spanish, Eduard Escalante Theater Prize in Valencian, Max Aub Theater Prize in Spanish, Celia Amorós Essay Prize in Spanish, Essay Prize in Valencian Josep Vicent Marquès and the Josep Sanchis Grau comic prize. Third. Regulatory Bases: General Subsidies Ordinance of the Valencia City Council and its Public Bodies, initially approved by plenary agreement of July 28, 2016 (BOP 1-09-16), made final by Mayor's Resolution No. Z-903, dated October 19, 2016 (BOP 2-11-16). Room. Amount: The maximum global amount intended to cover the awards referred to in this call amounts to a total of €82,000, distributed as follows: Narrative Award in Valencian €12,000; Narrative Prize in Spanish €12,000; Poetry Prize in Valencian €6,000; Poetry Prize in Spanish €6,000; Theater Award in Valencian €8,000; Theater Award in Spanish €8,000; Essay Prize in Spanish €10,000, Essay Prize in Valencian €10,000 and Comic Prize €10,000. Fifth. Deadline for submission of applications: Works may be submitted within thirty business days from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOP.
