Official description of the call

In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call for the XXX “Joaquín Sama” award for educational innovation in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.infosubvenciones.gob.es) and in this Official Gazette of Extremadura. First. Object. XXX “Joaquín Sama” award, 2025 edition, for the works or pedagogical experiences of educational innovation of the staff of the educational centers of the levels prior to the University of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, and the associations of mothers and fathers of the students duly registered 1. Works or experiences may be presented that deal with the following aspects: a) Education in values. b) Education in equal rights and opportunities between men and women. c) Education for non-discrimination based on birth, sex, racial, ethnic or geographical origin, disability, age, illness, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation or sexual identity or any other personal or social condition or circumstance. d) Education in respect for living beings and the rights of animals and the environment, particularly the value of forest spaces and sustainable development. e) Pedagogical and professional innovation and research in the different areas or fields concerning educational life, especially those related to the development of emotional intelligence and the promotion of entrepreneurial initiative in students. f) Promotion and use of information and communication technologies. g) Classrooms of the future. h) Digital transformation of the classroom. i) Attention to diversity. j) Promotion and use of foreign languages. k) Promotion and development of sciences and arts (STEAM). 2. Three modalities are established: a) Modality A: A Plural School. Works, educational materials, experiences or processes that involve an effort of interest in the development of any of the following topics: education in respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, in equal rights and opportunities between men and women and in equal treatment and non-discrimination of people due to birth, racial or ethnic origin, religion, conviction, age, disability, sexual orientation or identity, illness, or any other condition or circumstance; peace training; emotional intelligence; social cohesion; cooperation and solidarity between peoples; as well as the acquisition of values ​​that promote respect for living beings and the rights of animals and the environment, in particular the value of forest spaces and sustainable development. b) Modality B: School of Change. Works, educational materials, experiences or processes that involve an effort of interest in the development of some of the following topics: attention to diversity, treatment of foreign languages ​​in a transversal way (bilingualism or multilingualism), classrooms of the future, digital transformation of the classroom and promotion and use of information and communication technologies. These materials must be digital and must be integrated and function correctly in the Educational Technology Network of Extremadura and, therefore, it will be guaranteed that they work on the gnuLinEx environment and on the network. c) Modality C: A School for STEAM Development. STEM competence means “being able to identify, apply and/or reflect on the ways of doing, thinking and speaking typical of science, engineering and mathematics.” Furthermore, a school that encourages the development of STEM competence cannot forget the Arts understood as the sum of the Humanities, Art and Social Sciences, so as not to dehumanize scientific and technological progress by separating it from its social, human, historical, cultural and ethical context. Likewise, a school for STEAM development must keep in mind the promotion of entrepreneurial activity and the scientific vocations of students, especially among female students through the use of ICT and the realization of workshop, field or laboratory experiences. Second. Beneficiaries. Staff who are active during the work or experience of educational centers supported with public funds will be eligible for these awards.
