CALL FOR XXVIII INNOVATIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL FALLAS AWARDS (2026)

Official description of the call

Extract from the Agreement of February 20, 2026 of the Local Government Board of the Valencia City Council, which approves the call for the XXVIII edition of the Awards for the large and children's Fallas of the Fallas commissions for their innovative and experimental nature, on the occasion of the Fallas 2026. In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (https://www.infosubvenciones.es/bdnstrans/GE/es/convocatoria/888736): First. Beneficiaries: The fall commissions of the city of Valencia, in their capacity as non-profit entities and integrated into the Junta Central Fallera, that have the legal capacity to do so, may request this aid. The accreditation of these extremes will be carried out through the responsible declaration provided for in section 4.3 of the call. To be beneficiaries of the subsidy, the interested Fallas commissions must be registered in the Municipal Registry of Citizen Entities of the Valencia City Council on the end of the deadline for submitting the application for participation. The Festivals and Traditions Service will verify compliance with this requirement ex officio. Second. Purpose: The purpose of this call is to establish the rules that will govern the granting of the XXVIII edition of the awards to the large and children's fallaes of the Fallas commissions for their innovative and experimental nature, on the occasion of the Fallas 2026. The purpose is to open new paths to creativity in the Fallas festival by establishing greater avenues for the participation of the Fallas commissions (large and children) in order to promote new proposals that, due to their different elements, construction techniques, expressive registers, treatments of themes and materials, have an innovative and experimental concept, promoting the use of materials that are not polluting or harmful to the environment. Third. Regulatory Bases: General Subsidies Ordinance of the Valencia City Council and its Public Bodies, initially approved by plenary agreement of July 28, 2016 (BOP 1-09-16), elevated to final by Mayor's Resolution no. Z-903, dated October 19, 2016 (BOP 2-11-16). Room. Amount: The financing of the awards related to this edition will be attributed to the budget application BQ580-33800-48100, conceptualized as “Transfers Awards, Scholarships, Pension, Study, Research” of the municipal budget. The maximum global amount of this call amounts to 6,400.00 euros. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications: The deadline for submitting applications will be ten calendar days from the day following publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia. It will also be published on the websites of the Valencia City Council and the Fallera Central Board.
