Official description of the call
FIRST.- PURPOSE OF THE CALL. Through the Culture Area of the Excma. Provincial Council of Cáceres convenes the XX El Brocense Award for Microstories in order to promote literary creation through microstories, encourage imagination, creativity, and awaken sensitivity and interest in literary creation among the largest possible number of students. These awards are a motivation to develop these skills and allow us to put into practice, in an enjoyable and encouraging way, what we have learned in the language and literature classrooms. SECOND.- BENEFICIARIES. All students enrolled in the 2023-2024 academic year in 2nd, 3rd, 4th of ESO, Baccalaureate and intermediate and higher level training cycles, belonging to the educational system of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Spain, both within the national territory and outside of it, may attend the call, with no age limit, establishing the following levels or categories: SECONDARY: For students enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, 4th Course of ESO and intermediate level training cycles and for the teacher who endorses the first prize. BACHELOR'S DEGREE: For students enrolled in any of the Baccalaureate courses and higher-level training cycles and for the teacher who endorses the first prize. THIRD.- APPLICATION, FORM OF PRESENTATION, REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINE. An application must be submitted for each work submitted to the contest, completed in all its sections, which contains a responsible declaration, which states that the participants meet the requirements to obtain beneficiary status. Form of presentation: A pre-selection phase will be carried out in educational centers. There, teachers will be able to promote as many tests and actions as they consider necessary to select and send to the award jury as many as they deem per category. Each of the works presented will be endorsed by a professor from the Center, although the same professor can endorse all the works presented. The work must be sent through the address enabled for this purpose (https://certamenes.dip-caceres.es/), selecting the call and modality corresponding to this contest: - Microstory Award for Secondary School and intermediate level training cycles. - High School Microstory Award and higher level training cycles. Submission of the work: Upon accessing the contest application, a form will open where you must enter a copy of the work in PDF format, along with a pseudonym and the data requested in the form (Level or training cycle to which it belongs, full name, NIF or equivalent, full address, telephone number, email and a brief biographical summary of the author, name of the center, address and contact, as well as the full name of the professor who endorses the work indicating his telephone number contact information and email. After filling out the form and attaching the PDF file of the short story, you must proceed to send the work, at which time a receipt will be generated that you will receive in the email provided in your request. The receipt generated will be encrypted with a password and kept on the servers of the Provincial Council of Cáceres, along with the work, until the moment of the ruling, which is when it will be decrypted by the jury to know. to the prize winner. Requirements: The short stories, with free themes, must be original and unpublished in any language, written in Spanish, that have not been published or awarded (in whole or in part) on any type of digital platform or in other contests. The texts will have a maximum length of 500 words, double spaced spacing, Arial font, size 12, and must be sent in PDF. following the publication of the extract of this call in the BOP of Cáceres, the deadline being 11:59 p.m. on April 1, 2024.
