The 17th edition of the "Maria Josefa Canellada" award for children's and youth literature in the Asturian language.

Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries: Any person may apply for this award, without distinction of nationality, as long as they were not a winner in the previous edition. Second. Purpose: Awarding of the prize to a work of children's literature written in the Asturian language, belonging to any literary genre, regardless of whether it is a proposal for pre-readers, first readers or children with reading skills. The work will have a maximum length of 30 pages in DINA4 format, double spaced and with numbered pages for any genre. If it is poetry, the maximum length may be 25 poems or, if it is a smaller number of poems, a minimum of 250 verses. The work, original, with a free theme, genre and structure, must be unpublished and not awarded in other competitions. Third. Regulatory bases: Resolution of December 20, 2023, of the Presidency of the Principality of Asturias, which approves the regulatory bases of the "María Josefa Canellada" Prize for Children's or Young People's Literature in the Asturian language (BOPA of January 4, 2024). Room. Amount: 6,000.00 euros Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications: Thirty calendar days counting from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias. Sixth. Other information of interest -The works will be presented in two sealed envelopes on the front of which the name of the Prize will be written and the title of the work and the pseudonym of the person holding the authorship of the work will be stated. ENVELOPE A will contain data and identification of the author (photocopy of ID, address, telephone, email, brief resume) and responsible declaration regarding the following points: being up to date with their tax and social security obligations; not be indebted to the Treasury of the Principality of Asturias for overdue, liquid and payable debts, subsidies requested as well as those granted for the same purpose and if subsidies and aid previously granted by the autonomous community have been justified, as well as not being subject to the prohibitions to obtain the status of beneficiary, provided for in article 13 of the General Subsidies Law. ENVELOPE B will include the original in digital format and five copies of the text in paper format. -The Ministry of Culture, Language Policy and Sports reserves the right to exclusively publish the first edition of the award-winning work, considering the copyright of this first edition to be remunerated with the award. -At the electronic headquarters of the Principality of Asturias (https://sede.asturias.es) you can consult the form with procedure code SITE PREM0011T04, in which you will find the full text of the Resolution and complementary information.
