PRIZE FOR “BEST EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FROM THE PROVINCE OF SEVILLE (EDITION XXVII), SPECIAL PRIZE for “BEST EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FROM THE SIERRAS DE SEVILLE (EDITION XVII)” and PRIZE for “BEST ORGANIC EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FROM THE PROVINCE”

Official description of the call

First: Object The twenty-seventh edition of the Diputación de Sevilla Award for the “Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Province of Seville”, the seventeenth edition of the Special Award Diputación de Sevilla for the “Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Sierras of Seville”, and the fifth edition of the Diputación de Sevilla Award for the “Best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Province of Seville” are convened on a competitive basis: Campaign 2024-2025. The Prizes will consist of: 1.- A cash amount of €50,000.00 for each category, an amount to which the withholding provided for in tax legislation will be applied. 2.- Carrying out a special promotional campaign in favor of the award-winning oils, with the aim of making the oils known to the citizens of the province and the specialized sectors during the year 2025, with special relevance regarding their promotion in gastronomic days and other activities. 3.- The winning oil mills may mention the prize on the labels of their extra virgin olive oil containers that are from the same batch as the winning sample, following the rules for the use of the corporate image that the Provincial Council of Seville has approved at that time. Likewise, they may mention the prize obtained in any of their products, provided that they expressly state in them the type of oil, year and batch number actually awarded by the Provincial Council. The mention of the prize in advertising actions may only be made by the winning oil mills, or by the duly accredited marketing group. This point is also applicable to the runner-up oil for the award for "Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Province of Seville. Second: Beneficiaries The owners of authorized oil mills that have their factory in the province of Seville may participate in these awards. To qualify for the awards in the category of "Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Sierras of Seville", the oil must come from oil mills domiciled in some of these locations: Sierra Oriental. Alanís, San Nicolás del Puerto, Las Navas de la Concepción, Constantina, El Pedroso, Cazalla de la Sierra, Guadalcanal and the Puebla de los Infantes. El Real de la Jara, Almadén de la Plata, Castilblanco de los Arroyos, El Ronquillo, El Castillo de las Guardas, El Madroño and El Garrobo Sierra Sur. of San Juan, Algámitas, Pruna, Coripe and Montellano. To qualify for the “Best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Province of Seville” the oil mills in the province that produce this type of oil, certified by one of the control bodies to which the competent Andalusian authority has delegated specific tasks in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007, of June 28, 2007, on production and labeling of organic products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91. Third: Purpose Contribute to revaluing the highest quality extra virgin olive oils, through the stimulation of producers to obtain and market quality products, improve the image and their position in the market of olive products, as well as raising consumer awareness regarding them Fourth: Regulatory Bases The Bases Regulatory rules for the granting of these subsidies, under a competitive competition regime, are published in BOP No. 248 of December 24, 2024, and in the Electronic Headquarters of the Provincial Council of Seville. Fifth: Financing: The financing of the Call for Awards amounts to €150,000.00, a credit included in the budget application. 3201.41200.47902 of the 2025 Budget in force, with a cash prize per category of €50,000.00. Sixth: Deadline for submitting applications. The deadline for submitting entries will be 10 business days from the publication of the extract of the Call in the BOP of Seville, through the BDNS. Seventh: Assessment process. Supramunicipal, will be in charge of receiving the registration applications, the sample collection records and the custody of the three samples of each oil, from which the identifying label will be removed and a key will be assigned. The relationship that identifies the key with the oil mill will be entered in.
