JOSE LUIS SÁEZ PASTOR, Mayor-President of the City Council of Guardamar del Segura, MAKES IT KNOWN: That on January 26, 2026, the Local Government Board adopted agreement No. 01/2026 to approve the regulatory bases and call for the “Carnival 2026” costume contest. The full text of the rules is as follows: FIRST: Approve the Regulatory Rules and call for the “Carnival 2026” Costume Contest in Guardamar del Segura, which are transcribed with the following literal wording: “APPROVAL REGULATORY RULES AND CALL FOR THE CARNIVAL 2026 COSTUME CONTEST”. BASE 1º. PURPOSE OF THE CALL. The City Council of Guardamar del Segura, with the aim of promoting, preserving, promoting and praising the traditional Carnival Festivals, organizes and convenes the costume contest for the aforementioned festivals, on a competitive basis, in accordance with the provisions of the General Subsidies Ordinance of the Hon. Guardamar del Segura City Council published in the Official Gazette of the Province No. 42, dated March 3, 2015. This call aims to promote cultural and educational revitalization, whose strategic objective is to support, disseminate, promote and promote the cultural and educational fabric of the town, promoting the professionalism of the agents involved and consolidating models of support for the creation, development and production of cultural, artistic and educational activities, as well as promoting the promotion of traditions, popular festivals, most representative events of Guardamar del Segura as an activity of public and general interest. The contest in question seeks to stimulate creativity and encourage citizen participation in Carnival, promoting the festival and increasing its popularity. 2nd BASE. REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION. Registration will be free and must be done at the Guardamar del Segura Tourist Office during its opening hours. There it will be necessary to fill out the Contest Form (Annex I) where they will indicate their data and the modality in which they will participate, collecting, for their part, the participation number and which will have to be placed in a visible place for the jury during the contest. Along with registration, they must complete the Responsible Declaration for municipal aid (Annex II). The registration period will be from the day following the publication of the call in the B.O.P of Alicante, until Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Participation in this contest implies acceptance in full of the conditions established in these Rules. BASE 3rd. FINANCING. The financing of the “Carnival 2026” contest will be attributed to the budgetary application of the Municipal Budget for the year 2026 to budget item 2026.338.48000 for an amount of €1,100. BASE 4. COMPETITION MODALITIES. The contest will have two modalities: - Individual: between 1 and 10 components - Collective: from 11 components. BASE 5th. PRIZES. In the individual modality: A prize for the best costume………………….. €50 A prize for the funniest costume………….50 € In the collective modality: Best elaborate and creative costume………..€500 Most fun and friendly group……..…..€500 If the beneficiaries of the prizes, in the collective modality, are natural persons, they are subject to personal income tax withholding, as the amount exceeds 300 euros. The withholding would be applied in accordance with the percentages established in current regulations. The payment of the prize will be made in favor of the natural or legal person who appears as a representative of the participating group and who appears as such in the registration application. The person indicated in the Competition Instance, as a representative to receive the competition prize, may not be replaced by another representative of the same group, until the last day of submission of applications. BASE 6th. PARTY PROGRAMMING. PARADISE ITINERARY. The groups participating in the contest will be part of the parade. The “Carnival 2026” parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. on February 14, 2026, starting from Plaza San Jaume II to Calle Norte. The music during the parade, in general, will be provided by the Carnival 2026 Organization, so it is prohibited for any participant to contribute their own music. Likewise, the Organization will decide the order of departure of the participants to the contest. The awards ceremony will take place in Plaza Constitución
