Official description of the call

Extract from the Decree of September 18, 2023 of the President Councilor of the Latina District, which approves the bases that regulate the XXXIV Nativity Scene Contest for the 2023/2024 school year of the Latina District. In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17 <(>,<)> General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database. Beneficiaries: Public, subsidized and private schools in the Latina District that teach second cycle education in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Special Early Childhood Education and Compulsory Basic Education may participate. Second. Object. The XXXIV Nativity Scene Contest 2023/2024 school year is created with the purpose of promoting the participation of the center's educational community, teamwork, cooperation, group cohesion, artistic creativity and environmental sustainability through the use and exploitation of recycled materials, contributing to the comprehensive development of the students and the recognition of the work of the teachers who participate in the project. Third. Regulatory bases. The First Additional Provision of the Ordinance of General Regulatory Bases for the Granting of Subsidies by the Madrid City Council and its Autonomous Bodies, dated October 30, 2013, on the granting of educational, cultural, scientific or any other nature prizes subject to publicity and competition and other provisions that may be applicable. Room. Amount. The total amount allocated to this call amounts to 1,600.00 euros, which will be distributed as follows: First prize 600.00 euros. Second prize 400.00 euros. Third prize 200.00 euros. Up to 4 special mentions of 100.00 euros each may be awarded to nativity scenes that, in the opinion of the Jury, stand out for the complexity of the assembly, overcoming difficulties, effort and dedication, originality and creativity. The Jury may declare any prize void. Fifth. Application submission deadline. Applications for participation may be submitted from the day following the publication of this call in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid and until Friday, November 17, 2023, included. Sixth. Other data. This call for grants is carried out on a competitive basis. Each school center may submit a single nativity scene to the competition. The nativity scene must be made with any type of material, and the figures and representations that compose it must have been designed and made by the center's students. During the first fortnight of December 2023, the nativity scenes entered into the competition will be assembled and evaluated in the exhibition hall of the Paco de Lucía Auditorium in the Latina District, Avenida de las Águilas, 2. In evaluating the nativity scenes the jury will take into account the following aspects: degree of collaboration of the educational community of the center in the project (teachers, students, families<(>,<)> non-teaching staff, etc.); preparation or nature of the different figures and elements, the use of recycling materials; harmonious vision of the work. The participating centers proposed as winners will be announced at the public event that will be held in the week of December 18 to 22 at ten o'clock, in the Paco de Lucía Auditorium of the Latina District, Avenida de las Águilas, 2. The final date of the public event will be communicated to the centers at least fifteen days in advance. The nativity scenes will be exposed to the public in the exhibition hall of the Paco de Lucía Auditorium from the day on which the centers proposed as winners will be announced until January 8, 2024, which will be returned to the schools. To transport the nativity scenes, the schools will have the help of the Latina District. The Latina District will organize the transportation of the students and the representatives of the participating educational centers to the awards ceremony of the contest.
