Official description of the call

Extract from the Agreement of the Research Commission of the University of Alcalá of June 23, 2023, by which the Awards for Young Researchers of the UAH 2023 are announced BDNS: 706238 In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, it is published the extract of the call whose full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans/index): First. Beneficiaries Researchers linked to the closing date of the call to the UAH full-time and born in 1988 or later may apply. When any of the situations mentioned below occur, the candidate's date of birth, as a requirement, will be extended to the year 1986 or later: Periods of rest derived from maternity or paternity enjoyed in accordance with the protected situations included in the General Social Security Regime. An extension of one year will be applied for each child. Serious illness or accident of the applicant, with medical leave equal to or greater than three months. An extension equal to the justified sick leave period will be applied, rounding up to full months. Care for people in a situation of dependency, in accordance with the provisions of Law 39/2006, of December 14, on the promotion of personal autonomy and care for people in a situation of dependency, for a minimum period of three months. An extension equal to the justified period will be applied, rounding up to full months. Second. Purpose To support, promote and encourage the work of young researchers at the UAH. Third. Regulatory Bases Regulatory Bases Framework for the granting of scholarships and research aid by the University of Alcalá (https://www.uah.es/export/sites/uah/es/investigacion/.galleries/Investigacion/Bases_Reguladoras_Becas_Ayudas_Investigacion_UAH.pdf) Fourth. Amount Two prizes will be awarded, one in Experimental Sciences and the other in Human and Social Sciences. Each prize is worth €2,500. The total amount of the call is €5,000 and will be financed from budget application 300.M00.0541A645.23. Fifth. Deadline and submission of applications The deadline for submitting applications will remain open from the day of publication of the call until July 24, 2023, both included. Applications will be submitted through the 'Calls' option available on the Researcher's Portal. Sixth. Awards and selection criteria The candidatures will be evaluated by a Jury made up of prestigious expert members for each of the branches to which the presented candidates belong. Its specific composition will be approved by the Research Commission, at the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer. The candidatures will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Scientific merits evaluated using the self-score that appears in the Annex to this call, and the rest of the candidates in proportion to the score obtained.
