Extract from the Agreement of the Research Commission of the University of Alcalá of October 27, 2025, by which the Aid for the International Extension of Patents through the PCT Procedure is called – Call 2026 BDNS: 866387 In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans/index): First. Beneficiaries. Teaching and research staff from the University of Alcalá who appear as an inventor in a direct national or European patent application filed between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and whose ownership or co-ownership corresponds to the UAH and has been managed by the Knowledge Transfer Office (OTC). Second. Object. Strengthen international protection to compete on equal terms in an increasingly globalized field of action since innovation constitutes a key factor in the competitiveness of Third universities. Regulatory bases. Amount. It may be financed, provided there is budgetary availability for it, up to 100% of the fees set annually by the OEPM for the international patent application PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), as well as up to 100% of the expenses derived from the fees of the industrial property agents designated by the OTC for the processing of the PCT. The maximum amount of this call is 30,000 euros and will be financed from the OTC cost centers 30400M005 and 30400M800. Fifth. Deadline and submission of applications. The period for submitting applications will be open from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid and until October 15, 2026. Applications will be submitted through the “Calls” option available on the Research Staff Portal, attaching the documentation indicated in point 4.2 of this Call. Sixth. Other data. The aid granted based on this call will be used exclusively to cover, through the OTC, the expenses derived from the international extension, through the PCT procedure, of the patent that is the subject of the application. The industrial property agents in charge of processing the PCT will be those designated by the OTC. Seventh. Awards and selection criteria. The OTC will prepare, with the help of external evaluators, a reasoned report on the viability of the international extension of the patents that are the subject of the aid application, which will be submitted, together with all the documentation relating to it, to the Valuation Commission. Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Novelty, inventive activity and industrial application of the Patent. Relevance of protected knowledge and social and business interest. Degree of applicability of the patented knowledge. Agreements already concluded with other entities for possible licensing of the Patent. Other merits that may be relevant in the opinion of the Valuation Commission.
