Agreement of the Executive Council, of 01.07.2024, to approve the bases and the call for aid to promote the use of the Catalan language, especially Menorcan, in the business, sports, publishing and association sectors of Menorca, year 2024.

Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries Line 1. Support for publishing in the Catalan language, especially in Menorca. The following may be beneficiaries of support for publishing: a) Publishing and production companies, associations and other entities with headquarters in Menorca. b) Natural persons (editor, producer or author) born or resident in Menorca. c) In the event that the theme of the work is of special interest to Menorca or that the author of the work is Menorcan/resident in Menorca, entities, companies and individuals from outside the island can also be accepted. Line 2. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the company Companies established in Menorca that want to carry out actions to promote the use of the Catalan language, especially Menorcan, in their establishments located both in the traditional urban centers and in the urbanizations of the different municipalities of the island, are eligible for this aid. Line 3. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the sporting field. Sports entities and clubs domiciled in any of the municipalities of Menorca are eligible for this aid. Line 4. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the associative sphere The following are eligible for this aid: a) Associations and non-profit entities with registered office in Menorca that carry out some action to promote the use of the Catalan language, especially Menorcan, on the island. b) Non-profit associations and entities with registered office in Menorca that deploy internal plans for the promotion and linguistic dignity of the Catalan language, especially Menorcan, and that promote changes in linguistic uses in order to normally use Catalan in the development of their tasks or objectives. Second. Purpose The present aid is part of the responsibility that the Island Council of Menorca, as a public institution of the Balearic Islands, has in the promotion and preservation of the Catalan language, especially Menorcan, in its territorial scope. Third. Regulatory bases The call will be regulated with the regulatory bases approved by the Executive Council of the Island Council of Menorca, in an ordinary session on July 1, 2024. Fourth. Amount The maximum global amount of the call is €80,000 (eighty thousand euros), as broken down in the following table: Line 1. Support for publishing in the Catalan language, especially in Menorcan €30,000 Line 2. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the company €20,000 Line 3. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the sports field €10,000 Line 4. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in associations €20,000 TOTAL €80,000 Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications to qualify for the call is one month from the day after the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands. Sixth. Other information The maximum amount that can be received per request will be the following: Line 1. Support for publishing in the Catalan language, especially in Menorcan Maximum amount per request €1,500 Line 2. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the company Maximum amount per beneficiary €1,000 Line 3. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the sports field Maximum amount per beneficiary €1,000 Line 4. Promotion of the use of Menorcan in the field associative Maximum amount per application €3,000 The subsidized activity must have been completed between the day following the end date of the application submission period of the last call, that is, from July 1, 2023, and the deadline for carrying out the activities established in the bases.
