Official description of the call

In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general on Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans): First: Beneficiaries. Young authors may participate, individually or collectively, residing in the Valencian Community, aged between 12 and 20 years. Each participating person may present only one work. The winning authors of the previous edition, in any of the modalities, will not be able to participate in this call. The authors who won the specific Mislata youth award or the young author award in the previous edition will not be able to obtain this same award in this call. Second: Object. The purpose of these rules is to regulate the process of granting the “Breu 2025 Youth Literature Awards”, under a competitive competition regime. The purpose of this call is to foster literary values ​​and promote written language as a means of creation and communication, to offer a space for the participation of young writers from the Valencian Community, to promote the emergence of creative attitudes in young people, to encourage the emergence of new young authors and to promote young authors by facilitating the printed dissemination of their works. Third: Regulatory bases. Amount. The budget allocation of €2,900, assigned to the payment of the prizes, will be attributed to budget application 3271.48100 of the Municipal Budget in force for the year 2025. Fifth. Application submission deadline. The deadline for submitting the works will begin the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province and will end on June 5, 2025. Sixth. Other data. Four modalities are established corresponding to two genres with their respective linguistic variants: a) Narrative in Valencian b) Narrative in Spanish c) Poetry in Valencian d) Poetry in Spanish The works will have to be unpublished and written in Valencian or Spanish with no limit regarding the style or theme as long as they respect the rights protected by the Constitution. The works must be written on a computer, with a legible typology, with a size equal to or greater than 12 points and with a line spacing of 1.5 lines. To compete in the narrative modality, the length of the works may not be less than four pages nor more than twenty. To compete in the poetry category, works must have a minimum length of fifty verses and a maximum of two hundred, and may consist of one or more poems.
