Official description of the call
In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans) and on the institutional website of the Community of Madrid community.madrid. First. Beneficiaries. 1- Academic environment: - Public and private universities based in the Community of Madrid. - Public hospitals of the Madrid hospital network, public research organizations and centers with their own legal personality and foundations dedicated to research based in the Community of Madrid. 2- Business environment: - Public or private companies with a commercial legal form and a work center in the Community of Madrid, that wish to hire predoctoral researchers to carry out an industrial research project that serves as their doctoral thesis work and is of interest to companies. Second. Object. The purpose of the grants is the development of industrial doctoral projects in any field of knowledge and business sector, promoting collaboration and transfer of knowledge between the academic and business fields. The research project will be developed simultaneously in the business and academic environments. Third. Regulatory bases. Order 2785/2024, of June 23, of the Ministry of Education, Science and Universities, which establishes the regulatory bases for aid for the completion of industrial doctorates in the Community of Madrid, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid on July 4. Room. Amount and duration of aid. The financing of the aid will be distributed in three annual installments, with a total amount of 7,500,000 euros: Year 2025: €0 Year 2026: €2,500,000 Year 2027: €2,500,000 Year 2028: €2,500,000 The maximum amount to be financed for the academic environment is 30,000 euros/year. The amount to be financed for the business environment is: — Small businesses: 25,000 euros/year. — Medium companies: 22,500 euros/year. — Large companies: 20,000 euros/year. Fifth. Evaluation criteria. The evaluation of the projects will be carried out on a total of 100 points and the following aspects will be considered: 1. Quality and scientific-technological feasibility of the proposed R&D project. (maximum 60 points). The quality and viability of the R&D project will be evaluated, considering: structure and quality of the report, methodology, definition of objectives and innovative aspects of the project (maximum 30 points), the transfer of knowledge to the business sector, in terms of innovation for the company, potential for application of the results in the company (maximum 20 points) and the adequacy of the available resources to the objectives of the project, human resources, and material and financial resources (maximum 10 points). 2. Impact of the aid on the R&D&I activity of the business entity. (maximum 30 points). The impact on the increase in R&D&I activity planned for the company and its results will be assessed, considering the following aspects: amount of private investment allocated to the project, percentage of private investment over the total cost of the project (maximum 5 points); applicability of research in processes, products or services, strategic improvement for the company, competitive analysis, market studies (maximum 10 points); finally, putting these results on the market, marketing strategy, launch plan, potential for success in the market (maximum 15 points). 3. Experience of the thesis director. (maximum 10 points). The excellence of the thesis director will be assessed, taking into account the following aspects: number of doctoral theses supervised (maximum 7 points), of which, industrial doctoral theses (1 point per thesis, maximum 4 points) and academic doctoral theses (0.5 points per thesis, maximum 3 points). Participation in national and international collaboration projects with business entities (1 point per project, maximum 3 points). Only applications that have a score equal to or greater than 60 points as a sum of the three previous sections may be proposed for financing. Sixth. Application submission deadline. The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty business days from the following day.
