Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries: Natural persons (individually or participating collectively, with a maximum of 3 components) of legal age, are of Spanish nationality or are foreigners with legal residence in Spain, who do not exceed 35 years of age on the date on which the application submission period ends and who are in the situation that grounds the granting of the prizes. Second. Purpose: Recognize the work of young journalists or communicators in the field of social journalism who have best contributed to the promotion, defense and dissemination of civic, social and equality values, with the aim of promoting the development and dissemination of their professional career. To this end, works published between May 10, 2025 and the date of publication of the extract of this call in the Official State Gazette will be awarded, in the modalities of Written Journalism, Photojournalism, Audiovisual Journalism and Radio Journalism. Third. Regulatory bases: Order SCB/498/2019, of April 23, published in the BOE of May 1, 2019, modified by Order DSA/234/2023, of February 27, published in the BOE of March 9, 2023. Fourth. Amount: The maximum financial award will be 20,000.00 euros distributed equally in four prizes of 5,000.00 euros, one for each of the different modalities. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications: Twenty business days from the day following the publication of this extract in the BOE. Sixth. Other information: The technical documentation that must accompany the application in any case will include: a) Brief resume of the candidate(s), accompanied by a supporting report that summarizes and explains the work in the aspects that the author(s) consider relevant. The works must be presented in Spanish or in any of the official languages of the Spanish State, accompanied by a translation. b) Specific documentation for each of the modalities: Written Journalism: In the case of printed publications, a copy of the work presented will be provided, although the Youth Institute may require the interested party to show the complete, original pages of the newspaper or magazine that published them in order to verify their veracity. In the case of digital publications, the URL where the work is published will be provided; If it is not available online, a document in PDF format will be presented electronically, through a download or viewing link or on a USB device. Photojournalism: A series may be presented, with a number of between one and five photographs, indicating their order. They can be contributed digitally electronically or through a download or viewing link, or on a USB device, in high resolution JPG format (minimum 300 dpi). The author must include the publication data of the series presented: media, date of appearance and URL or PDF in case of paper publication. Audiovisual Journalism: The documentation provided must allow viewing, either by providing the URL where the work is published, or by means of a download or viewing link or by USB device. Radio Journalism: The documentation provided must allow listening, either by providing the URL where the work is published, or by means of a download or viewing link or by means of a USB device.
