Official description of the call
First: Beneficiaries Natural and legal persons, of legal age, without limit, of any nationality or place of residence may participate. Participation may be carried out individually or collectively, provided that the participants meet the requirement detailed in section 6.1. Those proposals that, both individually and collectively, are submitted by those artists who were winners (acquisition awards) or finalists (exhibition awards) of the editions of the Biennial convened by the Mislata City Council in the last 5 years (from the 2018 edition to the present) will be excluded. The Mislata City Council will in fact verify that the artists who apply for participation have not received any acquisition or exhibition prize in the aforementioned calls and will reject all those applications that fall under this cause of exclusion. Each participant, group or collective that wishes to participate in the call may submit only one work. The sending of more than one application per natural person, legal entity or group to present different proposals, or the sending of applications from different people who present more than one work, will be considered sufficient cause for the exclusion of said applications. Second: Purpose and character of the call. The purpose of this call is to regulate the exhibition process and awarding of prizes to creators who wish to participate in the Social Commitment Awards in the Visual Arts, Mislata-2023. The purpose of this call is to favor and promote the work of active visual artists, making room for all types of innovative and representative proposals of the latest artistic trends. The purpose of the call for the Social Commitment Awards in the Visual Arts, Mislata -2023 is: a) To exhibit a maximum of ten works at the “Carmen Alborch” Cultural Center in Mislata in an exhibition that generates an impact within the cultural offering of the municipality and that, through the themes of social commitment to be addressed and the language of contemporary visual arts, is capable of creating new audiences in culture. b) Expand the collection of municipal artistic collections with the acquisition of two of these ten works, exhibited in said exhibition. c) Award eight exhibition prizes in the form of artist fees valued at €500 for participation in the exhibition. The corresponding tax withholdings will be applied to this amount in accordance with current legislation. d) Award two extraordinary prizes of 6,000 euros that, in addition to responding to the concept referred to in section c, are intended for the acquisition of the winning work. Amount. The budget allocation assigned to the payment of the acquisition and exhibition prizes of this call amounts to €16,000 and will be charged to budget application 3340.48100 of the Municipal Budget in force for the year 2023. The amount of the two acquisition prizes to be awarded will be €6,000 and that of each of the exhibition prizes will be €500. These amounts will be paid in a single payment by bank transfer charged to budget application 3340.48100 of the Municipal Budget in force for the year 2023. Fifth. Application submission deadline. The period for submitting applications will begin with the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province and will end on October 16, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. If publication is delayed, the period will be ten business days from publication in the BOP. When the last day of presentation is a non-business day, it will be understood as extended to the first following day. Sixth. Other data.
