EDICT It is made public that, on November 8, 2023, the Mayor's Office-Presidency has issued Resolution number 2023-3480, in which the early call for the XXIV SANT JOAN D'ALACANT FILM FESTIVAL is approved in accordance with the following Rules: RULES XXIV SANT JOAN D'ALACANT FILM FESTIVAL FIRST. -OBJECT. The object of these rules is the regulation of the XXIV edition of the Sant Joan D'Alacant Film Festival, organized by the Viridiana Audiovisual Cultural Association and the Most Excellent Sant Joan d'Alacant City Council, in collaboration with other public and private entities, to be held in person from April 21 to 27, 2024, with the purpose of promoting the art of cinema. SECOND. -PARTICIPATION AND REQUIREMENTS Filmmakers with Spanish nationality or with legal residence in Spain may take part, and although the theme is free, works with a tourist or advertising nature, series or video clips will not participate. The registered works must be produced after January 1, 2023. The Festival organization may request that this condition be proven. Regarding the Ficus “PALOMITAS” award, productions from the year 2022 will be eligible for this award. Works registered in previous editions of the Festival will not be admitted. Unfinished works will not be taken into account. Works visible open to the public will not be taken into account. The maximum duration of the films will not exceed 30 minutes. with credits not necessarily included. The selection committee will not take into account more than three registered works by the same director. THIRD - REGISTRATION The registration of a film can be made from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante. Prior to their registration, the shorts must complete all the mandatory sections on a single viewing platform to choose from the following: CLICKFORFESTIVALS. (www.clickforfestivals.com) FESTHOME (www.festhome.com) MOVIBETA (www.movibeta.com) The platforms will have a section of the open contest that will also be accessible from https://santjoanfestivaldecine.es Any film registered and viewed on one of the platforms may be registered as a participant by a Selection Committee, as long as it complies with these rules. The registration deadline will be January 19 at . 11:59 p.m. The organization reserves the right to extend the deadline as it deems appropriate. Any questions or incidents regarding the correct registration of a film on the platforms should be directed to: help@festhome.com, contact@clickforfestivals.com, info@movibeta.com. There is no registration fee on the part of the Festival. FOURTH - SELECTION A Selection Committee made up of professionals from the audiovisual and cultural sector, linked to the Festival organization, will carry out the selection. the finalist works from among all those presented, their decisions being final. In no case should a film be registered if it is not certain that its final participation in the Festival could be confirmed. In case of removing a film already registered from a platform, you must notify the email coordination@santjoanfestivaldecine.es before the end of the registration period so that the selectors can also remove it from their evaluation sheet. selection. At all times, the Official Section will be reserved until its publication in the official media of the Festival, on a date that will be determined after confirming the participation of all the selected short films. If after two weeks from the selection notification, the short film has not confirmed its participation, the organization reserves the right to withdraw it or replace it with another, before the announcement of the official section. The list of selected films will appear publicly at least 2 weeks before the start of the festival, on a date that will be communicated both individually to the official section participants and to the participants. official media of the contest.
