Resolution of the general director of Casa África convening, through advance processing, the “Africa Objective” photography contest for 2024

Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries 1. All natural persons over 18 years of age who are authors of photographs that capture images linked to the theme related to the African continent of this call may participate and be eligible for the prizes. 2. Notwithstanding the above, those people who meet any of the following circumstances will not be able to participate: a) Who has been awarded in previous calls for the “Africa Objective” awards granted by the Consortium. b) That maintains any type of employment or professional relationship with the Casa África Consortium or with any of the entities that comprise it (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation; the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). c) Who is related by blood within the fourth degree or by affinity within the second, with any person who provides services in the Consortium or with any of the members of the Jury that is constituted for this call. d) That any of the circumstances provided for in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, occur. 3. Participants in this call may submit up to a maximum of five photographs. 4. The applicant will guarantee, as the author of the photograph, that he or she holds all intellectual property rights. Second. Object The purpose of this contest is to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about Africa and promote a positive image of the continent by encouraging creativity through photography, valuing multiculturalism, coexistence and, ultimately, the enrichment that the interaction between different cultures entails. Third. Theme related to the African continent on which the photographs presented must focus. Casa África promotes the 14th edition of the Objective Africa photography contest under the theme: Biodiversity in Africa. The contest will reward those images that creatively reflect the biodiversity of the African continent. Objective Africa, always oriented to knowing the positive aspects of the African continent, focuses in this edition on the environment and biodiversity, to contribute to the dissemination of the African natural heritage that invites us to think and visualize the richness of this biodiversity and its necessary conservation for the continent and for the planet. The theme can also be extended to climate change and its economic and social impact from a sustainability point of view. In addition, the photographs must show an optimistic approach, with the aim of continuing to break down the stereotypes that have traditionally marked the African continent. Room. Regulatory Bases Order AUC/1113/2021, of September 15, published in BOE No. 247 of October 15, 2021. The regulatory bases are in turn on the Casa África website, at the following address: https://www.casafrica.es/es/portal-de-transparencia Quinto. Amount 1. Casa África will award a first, a second and a third prize to the people whose photograph is classified, respectively, in the first, second and third place in the order of priority included in the granting resolution of this call. 2. The estimated individualized amount of each of the three prizes will be the following: – First prize: 1,000 euros. – Second prize: 500 euros. – Third prize: 300 euros. 3. In addition to the financially endowed prizes, Casa África may grant second prizes or special mentions to the authors whose photograph is classified between fourth and sixth place in the order of priority included in the granting resolution of this call. 4. Prizes may not be awarded ex aequo, and tie situations must be resolved in accordance with the criteria set out in Order AUC/1113/2021. Sixth. Application submission deadline. The application submission period will remain open from February 2, 2024 to May 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. (GMT+0). The submission of participation requests implies acceptance of the content of the regulatory bases and of this call. Seventh. Documentation of which the application consists The applications for participation will conform to the model that is attached as an Annex to this call and which can also be downloaded
