By Mayor's Resolution No. 2653 dated December 19, 2023, the Call for the subsidy intended to support the Constitution of New Self-Employed and Self-Employed has been approved, proceeding to its publication, the literal text of which is as follows: PROPOSAL FOR BASES OF THE LOCAL EMPLOYMENT STIMULUS PROGRAM – AID TO THE SELF-EMPLOYED 2023 – Summary STATEMENT OF MOTIVES. 4 Article 1.- Object and nature of the aid. 5 Article 2. The group of self-employed workers (for the purposes of these rules, and from now on, we will call them self-employed) is, historically, a group whose daily survival is complicated. To the intrinsic characteristics of their activity (with the difficulties that each of them already has, in itself), is added complicated legislation, a high tax burden, etc... The Sedaví City Council, aware that self-employed workers always need help, especially at the beginning of their activity, considers, and develops on these bases, aid aimed at the creation of self-employed jobs. We are aware that, to the number of neighbors who already had difficulties integrating into the labor market, we are joined by people who lose their jobs, and may have difficulties obtaining one in the short or medium term. The engine of the province's economy is SMEs, MicroSMEs and Commerce. These companies are small in size and often have a family management style. With this substrate, it is logical to think that successive crises especially affect this type of companies, obviously with fewer resources to resist the successive economic recessions that we periodically suffer. It is no secret that, due to the peculiar configuration of the Spanish economy, any type of crisis has an immediate impact on employment, to a much greater extent than in our surrounding countries. Although the macroeconomic forecasts contemplate an improvement starting this year, in a labor market that is not very dynamic like the one we unfortunately suffer at the moment, workers who leave their company have few opportunities to reintegrate into the labor market. The consequences are known to all: loss of purchasing power, decrease in consumption, which causes lower profits for companies and consequently new layoffs and closures of activity. The Sedaví City Council, aware of the role that Public Administrations can and should assume to boost the economy, is considering concrete measures that stimulate the creation of jobs, the labor reintegration of the workforce and finally the revitalization of the surrounding business and commercial fabric. Given, furthermore, that the Sedaví City Council is already working on the creation of a line of aid for hiring as employees, we are considering, in parallel, creating an aid program aimed at promoting the establishment of local businesses, particularly belonging to the commercial sector, run by self-employed personnel. The advantages that labor self-management, or the creation of self-employed activity, entails are known: Management of one's own responsibilities. Creation of added value and additional wealth. Strengthening ties with the territory. Future possibility of creating more jobs. Creation of wealth at the local level. Given that these grants have already seen the light of day in past years, with a very reasonable demand, the Sedaví City Council considers it interesting to re-launch these subsidies for the self-employed.
