Official description of the call
1. Regulatory bases The regulatory bases of this call are included in the General Subsidies Ordinance of the Consell de Mallorca. (Approved by Plenary Agreement of December 23, 2016 BOIB no. 21, of 02/18/2017-, modified by Plenary Agreement of June 14, 2018 BOIB no. 96, of 08/04/2018). 2. Purpose The purpose of this call is to carry out cultural activities (workshops, conferences, seminars, visits, etc.), directly related to the collections of museum centers to promote the dissemination and knowledge of their holdings. Activities carried out during the year 2024 are eligible to participate in the following events: International Museum Day, which is celebrated every year on May 18. It is a date established by ICOM, an organization dependent on UNESCO, who proposes a motto on which the activities programmed by the museum centers are based. Autumn in museums, activities developed throughout the months from September to November and that until 2018 were organized by the Xarxa de Museus de Mallorca. For the purposes of this call, museum and collection are understood to be what is set out in articles 2 and 3 of the Museum Law of the Balearic Islands. For the purposes of this call, recognized are understood to be those museums or collections that, in accordance with the Regulations for the recognition and registration of museums and museographic collections of Mallorca, have processed the application and have been recognized and registered by the Consell de Mallorca. Activities related to the external promotion of the culture of Mallorca and annual cultural programs are excluded from the call. 3. Beneficiaries The following may be beneficiaries of this call: Local entities that own recognized or unrecognized public museums and collections for the development of the activities described in point 3.2 of this call. Private non-profit entities that own recognized private museums or recognized private collections for the development of the activities described in point 3.2 of this call. 2 projects can be presented and subsidized by the same entity. One for International Museum Day and another for Autumn in Museums. 4. Budget allocation During the 2024 budget year, the amount of €20,000.00 is allocated, distributed among the lines mentioned below and as follows: Line 1: Public museums and collections of municipal ownership €13,000.00 (charged to budget application 20 33210 46203 for the year 2025) Line 2: Recognized museums or recognized private collections of non-profit entities €7,000.00 (charged to budget application 20 33210 48902 for fiscal year 2025) Since this is a call for advance expenditure, this is conditional on the existence of adequate and sufficient credit for financing in the budget year to which the expense is allocated. 5. Submission of applications Applications can be submitted within 15 business days, counting from the day following the date of publication of the extract of this call in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands.
