In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (https://www.infosubvenciones.es/bdnstrans/GE/es/convocatoria/745049) First.- Objectives and Purpose: Establish the call for the third edition of the literary contest III SHORT STORY CONTEST OF TORREMOLINOS 2024 granted, on a competitive basis, by the Delegation of Libraries from the Area of Culture, Events and Protocol. Education, Equality, Employment, Youth, Television, Seniors and Citizen Participation, competent in matters of cultural action, charged to the budgets. The objective of calling this contest is to generate a permanent space for literary creation where the taste for writing and reading is enhanced, with the city of Torremolinos as inspiration, as well as ensuring that the Municipal Library becomes a reference for these literary initiatives. Second.- Categories and prizes: - Children from 6 to 11 years old: Awarded with three prizes that will each consist of a backpack and a lot of books (each lot valued at €100). - Youth from 12 to 17 years old: Provided with three prizes that will each consist of a backpack and a lot of books (each lot valued at €100). - Adults over 18 years of age: Three prizes are established. First Prize: endowed with 299 euros. Second Prize: endowed with 200 euros Third Prize: endowed with 150 euros. Third.- Participants: All persons residing in the Spanish State may apply for this call, a condition that must be duly accredited, if applicable, with the appropriate document. National Identity Document or Residence Card. For children under 14 years of age, the Family Book is accepted. In accordance with the above, the works that participate in this competition must be an unpublished and original story and have the city of Torremolinos as a central theme or framework. They must be in Spanish and not awarded in other competitions or presented simultaneously to other competitions. Participation in the Contest implies acceptance of the RULES that govern said contest and that are published on the Transparency Portal of the Torremolinos City Council. Fourth.- Jury: The Jury will be made up of 3 components, which will be chosen by the Torremolinos Municipal Library from among people of recognized prestige in the world of Culture in general. The Jury will have full powers to interpret the RULES and its decision will be final. The jury, through the instructing body, which will be the Technician responsible for the Library Delegation, will forward the proposal for granting the prizes to the competent body to decide, in this case the Delegate Councilor for Culture of the Torremolinos City Council. Fifth.- Submission deadline: It will be an essential condition to qualify for the award of the prize in this contest that the stories are submitted between May 1 and September 30, 2024, with the deadline being 11:59 p.m. CET on September 30, 2024. In the case of submitting more than one work, only the one that obtains the highest score will be awarded. Sixth.- Ruling: The jury's ruling will be published on the Transparency Portal of the Torremolinos City Council as well as on the Social Networks of the Torremolinos Municipal Library, subsequently notifying the granting of prizes to those interested between October 1 and 12, 2024. Seventh.- Prize giving: The prize giving will take place in a public event coinciding with the celebration events of the Torremolinos Book Fair. The winners will be notified of this event in the days prior. Failure to attend this event means renouncing the prize, which will remain void.
