Official description of the call
Order APA/379/2023, of April 8, published in the “Official State Gazette” number 93, of April 19, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of the Spanish Food Awards, states in its article 4.1 that the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will announce the awards by publishing them in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.igae.pap.minhap.gob.es and an extract of the same in the Official State Gazette. First. Purpose and modalities. The Food of Spain Best Wines Award, 2024 is aimed at the promotion of wines that belong to any of the Spanish Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) recognized by the European Union, whose manufacturing company has its main headquarters located within the national territory and that have obtained the best score in the International Competition. Bacchus Wines 2024. Modalities: a) Spanish Food Award for Best Red Wine. b) Food of Spain Award for Best White Wine. c) Food of Spain Award for Best Rosé Wine. d) Food of Spain Award for Best Sparkling Wine. e) Food of Spain Award for Best Liqueur Wine. Second. Wines admitted to the competition. For each of the modalities indicated in the previous section, only wines covered by Spanish DOPs and PGIs recognized by the European Union that comply with current legislation and that have obtained the five best scores will be admitted to the competition in the Bacchus 2024 International Wine Competition organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters. Third. Application, form and deadline for submission. Candidates for the award, within twenty business days of receiving the communication from the instructing body, must express acceptance of the candidacy, complete the responsible declaration and present the report provided for in the award call.
