PROPOSAL CALL FOR THE VI LA REGANYÀ COMPETITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ALZIRA “D’Alzira, La REGANYÀ” 2024 1. OBJECTIVE With the aim of highlighting our products, but also promoting our commerce and gastronomy, as well as the work of the professional bakers of our city, from the Department of Economic Promotion, Labor, Commerce and European Projects, together With the Bakers Guild, the “D’Alzira, La REGANYÀ” campaign began in 2016. The holding of this contest is part of a set of dissemination actions and aims to contribute to the fact that “D'Alzira, La REGANYÀ” is a reference among typical Valencian sweets, in addition to giving public recognition to the baker's profession. 2. PARTICIPANTS All bakers, both from Alzira and other towns, may participate in the “traditional and/or fusion” categories, as long as they accredit it through Form 036 of the Treasury, where it appears that the contestant is registered in this activity. Any person, both from Alzira and other towns, who is an amateur or who has a hobby of making bakery products, may participate in the “amateur” category. Reganyà. Registrations will be made through the form that you will find on the La Reganyà website: https://www.idea-alzira.com/concurso-reganya-, at the IDEA Offices or at the Alzira Bakers' Guild, until March 19, 2024. 3.- DATE AND PLACE OF THE CONTEST The Contest will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the Plaza Mayor of Alzira. 4.- CONDITIONS OF PRODUCT PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF THE PRODUCT The preparation of La Reganyà by each contestant will be free, but the raw weight of the dough will have to be 400 grams. Regarding the presentation of the product to the contest, there will be three categories: TRADITIONAL REGANYÀ: where all the reganyaes will maintain the classic shape of the reganyà, according to the image. Any participant who does not present the reganyà in the manner established above will be disqualified in this category. REGANYÀ FUSIÓN: where innovation and invention in design, format and ingredients, (always maintaining the ingredients of reganyà) is free, being able to present any type of dessert, fused with other ingredients. REGANYÀ AMATEUR: where all reganyaes will maintain the classic form and ingredients of traditional reganyà. Bakers may enter the two categories “traditional and/or fusion”, and may obtain prizes in both categories. Each participant will have to present 2 Reganyaes, one for the jury and another for the tasting of the audience. 5.- PRIZES The prize pool for the competition will be financed by the Alzira City Council and will be as follows: Prize for the Traditional Reganyà category: First prize.- €300 Second prize.- €150 Third prize.- €100 Prize for the Reganyà Fusion category: €300 Prize for the Amateur Reganyà category: €150 The method of payment for the prizes will be through the Alzira Card. 6.- MAXIMUM TOTAL AMOUNT OF SUBSIDIES CALLED The prizes awarded will be within the budget limits charged to the budget application 2416 48000 "Reganyà Competition Prizes", of the corresponding budgetary year. They will be compatible with other subsidies or aid from any other entity or institution, and the amount of these may in no case be of such an amount that, alone or in conjunction with subsidies or aid from other public administrations or public or private entities, exceeds the cost of the activity to be carried out by the beneficiary. 7.- JURY The competition jury will be made up of the following members: 1. Representative of the educational community. 2. Representative of the Fallera Local Board. 3. Representative of the Hostelers. 4. Representative of the Neighborhood Festival Coordinator. 5. IDEA representative. 6. Representative of the Board of Brotherhoods. 7. Renowned pastry chef, baker or chef. The jury's decision will be final. 8.- ACCEPTANCE. Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules. Any incident not foreseen in these rules will be resolved by the members of the jury.
