Official description of the call
Order APA/379/2023, of April 8, published in the "Official State Gazette" number 93, of April 19, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of the Spanish Food Awards, states in its article 4.1 that the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will announce the awards by publishing them in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.igae.pap.minhap.gob.es and an extract of the same in the Official State Gazette. First. Purpose and modalities. The “Alimentos de España award for the Best Hams, 2024 is intended to contribute to promoting quality hams. Modalities: a) “Alimentos de España” Award for the Best Serrano Ham or other Recognized Quality Figures. b) “Alimentos de España award for the Best Acorn-fed Iberian Ham”. Second. Participants and hams admitted to the competition. establishments authorized to produce hams that have their headquarters located within the national territory may participate in the prize. The hams presented will be made by the contestant who must justify that in the last three years they have produced a minimum of 1,500 pieces per year. Third. Application, form and deadline for submission. Applications will be addressed to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and will be submitted, through the electronic registry of this Ministry, at its associated electronic headquarters. (https://sede.mapa.gob.es) by means of a valid electronic certificate compatible with said electronic office, completing the information required therein. If the beneficiaries are natural persons, they may choose to submit the applications at said associated electronic office or in person at the General Registry of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food or in any of the places provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. to the publication of the extract of the call in the "Official State Gazette" until May 27, 2024, inclusive. Delivery of the pieces of ham and coding. The producers will send the samples, postage paid, on the dates and to the place indicated in the “Spanish Food Award for the Best Hams” tab on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
