EXTRACT from the Resolution of the Rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University dated May 20, 2024, which approves and makes public the call for the I Awards of the Research Institute of Technologies for Sustainability (ITPS) for the best Doctoral Theses defended in the years 2022 and 2023. BDNS: 762255 In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the cited resolution is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans/index as well as on the official electronic bulletin board of the Rey Juan Carlos University https://sede.urjc.es/tablon-de-anuncios: First. Object. The purpose of this call is to reward doctoral theses defended in the years 2022 and 2023 at the Rey Juan Carlos University through a competitive competition regime within the framework of the following priority scientific-technological lines of the ITPS: Study of advanced and disruptive technologies to improve the energy efficiency of processes. Development of clean and renewable, indigenous and efficient energies. Promotion of technologies for cleaner transportation and intelligent and sustainable building. Development of sustainable processes for waste treatment and effluent purification. Study of materials reuse and recycling technologies, to accelerate the transition towards a productive system and a society, in general, more sustainable and efficient in the use of resources within the framework of the circular economy. Development of new advanced, multifunctional, intelligent and sustainable materials. Second. Beneficiaries. Students from the Rey Juan Carlos University who have defended their doctoral thesis between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023 and who have obtained the highest CUM LAUDE qualification unanimously and within the URJC Doctoral Programs related to the Institute's areas of knowledge described in the second base may participate and qualify for the award. Third. Amount of prizes. This call will allocate a financial amount of 3,000 euros to finance the awards. The aforementioned amount will be allocated to the budget application 30M1IN3263 541A 483.00 of the expenditure budget of the Institute of Technologies for Sustainability for 2024. Each of the prizes will be endowed with the following financial amounts: First prize: 1,500 euros. Second prize: 1,000 euros. Third prize: 500 euros. The awards may be void if it is considered that no thesis meets the requirements established in the third base or if not enough applications are received to qualify for the award. Room. Form and deadline for submitting applications. Applications for participation will be submitted in accordance with the procedure described in the sixth provision of the call. The submission period will begin from its publication in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (after sending the call to the National Subsidies Database) and applicants will have 30 calendar days to submit the documentation. In accordance with what is described in the sixth provision of the call, applications will be accompanied by the documents included therein: Application report according to Annex I of the call. Photocopy of ID or passport. Copy of the thesis report and defense accreditation. Letter of endorsement from an ITPS member. Other additional documentation of interest. Responsible declaration. Fifth. Evaluation of applications. Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Scientific-technological results of the Doctoral Thesis: 45 points Impact and innovative potential of the Doctoral Thesis in the development of technologies for sustainability: 25 points. Mentions of the Doctoral Thesis (international, industrial or in international co-tutorship): 20 points. Curriculum and additional merits presented by the applicant: 10 points. Sixth. Resolution and resources. The participation resolutions, as well as the appropriate resources, will be presented in accordance with the procedure described in provision 9.5 onwards of the call.
