Official description of the call
1.- All people who wish to participate may participate and may present more than one poster. The works must be original and unpublished, and not have been awarded in other contests or competitions. The Commission reserves the right to disqualify from the contest any poster that it deems to be a total or partial copy of another existing poster or that incorporates a previously existing image or text design that is not their own authorship. 2.- The contestants will carry out work on a theme or motif related to the bullfighting world and it must be clearly identified on the poster that it is the Setmana de Bous de Algemesí. 3.- The following legend must appear in the originals: PLAÇA DE BOUS D’ALGEMESÍ BOUS 2024 (Accentuation signs must appear even if the legend is in capital letters) 4.- The poster technique, despite the characteristics of bullfighting posters, may be a poster in all forms (by hand, photographic composition, computer...). 5. The composition of the poster must take a vertical form with the following measurements: 40 cm wide by 50 cm high. No margins. The poster must be presented mounted on a rigid surface, of the same size indicated above. In no case will images or photographs reproduced by scanner from other authors be accepted. 6.- The originals may be made with freedom of procedure. Reproduction should not present difficulties and should not require more than four inks. Gold and silver inks, as well as fluorescent colors, are excluded from the composition. 7.- The deadline for the admission of works will end on June 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The works must be presented at: - Museu Valencià de la Festa, calle Nou del Convent, 71, 46680 Algemesí. During museum hours: Wednesday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesdays, Sundays and holidays, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed on Mondays). - Algemesí City Council. Office 9.2- 2nd floor. (Plaça Major, nº3, 46680, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). 8.- The works will be presented unsigned and will be accompanied by a sealed envelope with the data, telephone number and address of the author and a sworn statement stating that the idea of the poster is original to the author and, in the case of having photographs, that they are the author's own images of the poster and not plagiarism. 9.- A single prize of 1,200 euros will be awarded. 10.- The jury, which will have been selected in advance, will make the decision public as of June 26, 2024. The participating sketches will be shown in an exhibition at the Museu de la Festa. 11.- The winning poster will remain the property of the Bullfighting Commission, which will use it as it deems appropriate. Non-awarded posters may be withdrawn from the day after the exhibition ends, at the Museu de la Festa. After 30 days, if they have not been collected, it will be understood that the authors renounce any right to the works, which will remain the property of the Bullfighting Commission. 12.- The presentation of works in this contest implies full acceptance of these rules. 13.- The jury reserves the right to vacate the prize in the event that no work reaches the required quality.
