Object. 1. The purpose of this resolution is to announce the awards corresponding to the 39th edition of the Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove (hereinafter Cinema Jove) and the distribution award for the winning feature film of the 38th edition of the Festival (2023). It will take place in Valencia and aims to promote young filmmakers. 2. The Cinema Jove awards, financially endowed, are publicly subsidized and will be awarded on a competitive basis, according to the principles of publicity, transparency, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination. Second. Categories and awards. The prizes with financial prizes will be distributed in the following categories: a) Prizes to the owners of those audiovisual works that are considered a feature film. b) Awards to the owners of those audiovisual works that are considered short films. c) Awards to the owners of those audiovisual works of fiction or documentary nature that are considered series. d) Award for distribution in Spain of the feature film that won the Luna de València award at the 38th edition of Cinema Jove (2023). Third. Beneficiaries. The following will be beneficiaries of the Cinema Jove cash prizes contemplated in the resolution: a) In the case of the Luna de València awards for best fiction feature film and best series, the Òrbites award, the Audience Award for best feature film and the Audience Award for best series, the production companies. b) In the case of the Luna de València award for best short film, 50% of the award will be awarded to the director of the short film and 50% to the company that produces it. c) In the case of the award for the distribution of the feature film that won the Luna de València award in the previous edition, the company that distributes the feature film in Spain. Room. Submission of applications. Applications for participation of audiovisual works in Cinema Jove may be submitted until June 7, 2024.
