Official description of the call

First: Beneficiaries: The Local Entities of the Principality of Asturias that execute and/or organize the actions for which they are directed. Second: Purpose: Approve the multi-annual call for granting aid to finance actions linked to the conservation of biodiversity, revitalization, dissemination and sustainable development. in the scope of powers of the Ministry of Development, Local Cooperation and Fire Prevention, and specifically in the following lines of action: The following lines of action may be subject to subsidy: a) Investments in the areas of socioeconomic influence of the Picos de Europa National Park in the territory of the Principality of Asturias referring to: 1º Public initiatives aimed at the modernization of urban, peri-urban and rural infrastructures intended for general use, as well as the diversification and improvement of the services provided by the local Administration, when they are directly related to the purposes and objectives, related to the conservation of biodiversity, established by the declaration standards of the Picos de Europa National Park or its planning instruments. 2º Public initiatives aimed at the conservation of natural heritage, provided that they present a manifest ecological value. 3º Public initiatives aimed at eliminating any type of impact on the natural or cultural values ​​that justified the creation of the Picos de Europa National Park, including the visual impact on the aesthetic perception of the National Parks caused by pre-existing infrastructures. 4º Public initiatives aimed at guaranteeing the compatibility of traditional activities and uses with the purpose and objectives of the Picos de Europa National Park, in terms of biodiversity conservation. b) Investments in the areas of socioeconomic influence of the Picos de Europa National Park in the territory of the Principality of Asturias referring to: 1. Public initiatives aimed at the conservation or restoration of architectural heritage, as well as those that contribute to the recovery of the traditional construction typology, provided that they present a manifest historical-artistic or cultural value on a local scale and that serve for dissemination, information to visitors, public use and even natural environment management activities. c) Activities, not consisting of investments, referring to: 1º Public initiatives aimed at disseminating the values ​​and importance of the Picos de Europa National Park among broad sectors of local society. 2º Public initiatives aimed at training the local population in tasks related to the management of the Picos de Europa National Park and the conservation of biodiversity, in any of its facets, with the conservation of the natural and cultural values ​​that justified its declaration or with the sustainable use of renewable natural resources. In general, any public initiative expressly provided for in the sustainable development plans of the Picos de Europa National Park or in the Agenda 21 of any of the municipalities that make up its areas of socioeconomic influence, which is related to the conservation of biodiversity, its dissemination and the public use of the natural environment. Third: Regulatory bases: Resolution of February 28, 2024, of the Ministry of Development, Local Cooperation and Fire Prevention, published in the BOPA of March 14, 2024 (no. 53).
