Subsidies for the modernization and sustainability of municipal public libraries

Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries. Municipalities with a population of no more than 50,000 inhabitants, which have a municipal library or reading center. Municipalities that have more than one municipally owned library or reading center may only request aid for one of their libraries or reading centers. Each municipality may request aid for all the modalities it wishes as long as all the modalities are aimed at a single library or reading center in the municipality and that they are made in separate applications. The Centers for which a subsidy is requested must have a minimum weekly opening hours of 15 hours in municipalities with up to 5,000 inhabitants or 25 hours in municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants. Likewise, they must have qualified library personnel to carry out the management and provision of services. Second. Object. This Order calls for subsidies whose purpose is the modernization and sustainability of municipal public libraries. The purpose pursued is to develop the library infrastructure of Local Corporations by granting aid for physical and technological equipment (including those equipment that facilitate the accessibility of content to users with different disabilities) that allows the modernization of current public reading services. Third. Regulatory bases. Order CUL/2912/2010, of November 10, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of public subsidies under competitive competition from the Ministry of Culture. Room. Amount. The maximum amount attributable to the subsidies will be €280,000. The aid granted will be covered by the credits of application 24.03.332B.761 of the expenditure budget of the Ministry of Culture and Sports for the year 2024 in three types of aid: Technological equipment (70,000 euros), Furniture and physical equipment (90,000 euros) and Air conditioning and energy efficiency system (120,000 euros). Fifth. Application submission deadline. The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen business days from the day following the publication of this extract in the "Official State Gazette."
