December 18, 2024 of the Presidency of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, which approves the call for MAEC-AECID Lectureships in Foreign Universities for the 2025/2026 academic year

Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries: Applicants for a vacant or new assistantship: Spanish citizens, aged no more than 37 years on the first day of the month in which the assistantship begins, who meet all the requirements established in the second section of the call. Applicants for renewal of readership: Spanish citizens who hold the status of MAEC-AECID reader for a consecutive period of less than three academic years at the same university, who meet all the requirements established in the second section of the call. Second. Purpose: Aid to teach Spanish in the foreign universities listed in the call that contribute to the strengthening and promotion of the teaching of Spanish, to the training and acquisition of teaching experience of readers in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Third. Regulatory bases: Order AEC/1098/2005, of April 11, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies, scholarships and aid for training, research, exchange, promotion, and travel and stay of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (BOE no. 99, of April 26, 2005) Fourth. Amount: Total amount of the call: 3,359,732 euros. Individual amount: the amount established for each destination included in Annex I of the call. Maximum number of beneficiaries: 147. The aid consists of: monthly allocation that will vary depending on the country and university of destination; complementary assistance for in-person incorporation according to the country of destination; up to €250 for the acquisition of teaching materials for teaching Spanish; up to €250 in training aid and travel grants to compensate for expenses to attend readers' meetings on topics or activities related to the functions of the readership program, all under the terms specified in the call. Fifth. Deadline for submission of applications: Vacant and new lectureships: from January 13 to 30, 2025. Renewal lectureships with a start date between the months of July and October 2025: from January 13 to 21, 2025. Renewal lectureships with a start date in December 2025 and January 2026: from April 22 to 29, 2025. The regime The timing of the calculation of deadlines will be established in accordance with the official calendar, date and time published in the AECID Electronic Headquarters. Sixth. Other information of interest. Applications will have to be completed duly and entirely in Spanish, in the corresponding form, electronically, created at www.aecid.gob.es, in a complete and truthful manner, with those applications not submitted electronically being subsequently and automatically eliminated. Before filling out the form, interested parties must be registered in the AECID electronic headquarters, citizen's folder, for communication and notification purposes. All applicants will attach the documentation related to the fourth section of the call, in electronic format. In accordance with Order AEC/2776/2011, of October 7, notifications and communications with the AECID must be carried out using only electronic means.
