REGULATORY RULES FOR THE CALL AND CELEBRATION OF THE VAL DO DUBRA 2025 CARNIVAL COSTUME CONTEST: First.- Purpose The Department of Culture of the Val do Dubra City Council calls for the costume contest to be held, within the activities and shows of Carnival 2025, on March 1. Second.- Modalities The contest will include the modalities detailed below: “Comparsa” category. It must be made up of at least 5 people over 14 years of age. Minors may participate in this category as long as the number of members over 14 years of age is greater than the number of younger participants. “Couples” category. Registered couples will not be able to participate in other modalities. “Individual” category. People registered in this modality will not be able to participate in the other modalities. Third.- Place, location and conditions of development of the contest The Contest will consist of a parade that will take place on March 1, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the following route: Campo de la Feria de Bembibre, Calle de la Vereda, Calle Os Muíños, Calle Arcai passing in front of the Town Hall House until reaching the place of the final event, which in this case will be a tent located in the parking lot, between Calle San Lourenzo and the parallel to the Arcai Street. In any case, the location may undergo modifications due to inclement weather and/or other causes of force majeure; and, if so, and it cannot be carried out according to the location and itineraries initially planned, its celebration will be moved to the Municipal Pavilion. Both throughout the parade and in the tent, where the participants will be able to do some type of representation/performance/acting alluding to the costume, the jury members will evaluate the costumes and issue their verdict once the dance scheduled for the event is over. Fourth.- Registration Registration to participate in the contest will begin on February 10 and will end on February 25. They can be done through the electronic headquarters or in the General Registry of the Val do Dubra City Council. Registrations will be made according to the models and criteria that appear as: Annex I. “Comparsas” modality. Annex II. “Couples” mode. Annex III. “Individual” mode. Fifth.- Prizes The prizes established for this contest, and which will be awarded according to the verdict issued by the jury created for this purpose, will be the following: INDIVIDUAL COUPLE COMPARSAS 1st PRIZE €900 1st PRIZE €200 1st PRIZE €150 2nd PRIZE €700 2nd PRIZE €150 2nd PRIZE €100 3rd PRIZE €300 3rd PRIZE €80 3rd PRIZE €50 Sixth.- Contest Jury. Composition and evaluation criteria The jury will be in charge of evaluating the participants in the contest, in the different modalities, taking into account the costumes worn and, where appropriate, the representation, performance and/or performance carried out at the event location; and paying attention, in any case, to originality, attractiveness and staging, valuing self-created costumes to a greater extent. The evaluation criteria and their weighting will be as follows: OUTFIT ORIGINALITY AND CREATIVITY STAGE AND SETTING FLOAT 1 TO 5 POINTS 1 TO 5 POINTS 1 TO 5 POINTS 1 TO 2 POINTS Any award may be declared void if, in the opinion of the jury itself, sufficient merits are not met. The jury will be made up of a minimum of 3 people belonging to groups from the business, educational and/or municipal associations. In addition, it will have municipal personnel assigned to the Department of Culture, who will act (or the person to whom they delegate, if applicable) as secretary with voice and without vote. Seventh.- Resolution of the contest The resolution of the contest, in accordance with the verdict issued by the jury, will be made public at the end of the contest at the venue, with an indication of the distribution of the prizes foreseen in the different modalities or, where appropriate, of those that may have been deserted. EIGHTH.- Observations The Department of Culture will be empowered to resolve, in accordance with its powers, any possible eventualities or controversies that may arise and not provided for in these bases. Ninth.- Data protection The data provided by the participants registered in the contest will be treated and protected in accordance with the provisions of the regulations governing the protection of personal data.
