Official description of the call

1- Object. The Cariñena City Council convenes, on a competitive basis, the XVII “Ciudad de Cariñena” Painting Prize, year 2025, with the aim of encouraging, promoting and disseminating artistic creation coinciding with the display of the title of European City of Wine. 2.- Recipients All natural persons, individually, without age limit, regardless of their nationality, will have the right to participate in this award, except for those who, in the immediately previous edition, had been awarded in this contest. Each author may participate with a maximum of two original works, which have not been awarded in any other contest, nor have they been previously presented for this award. 3.- Prizes A first prize of €1,000 is established, a second prize of €600, two second prizes of €200 each and a special prize for the best work by a local artist of €200, amounts to which the corresponding income tax withholding will be applied, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation. Payment of the prize will be made from budget item 3340.48003 of the current budget. The payment of the prize will be made after the concession agreement approved by the Mayor's Office, according to the proposal of the Advisory Council, and after accreditation that the beneficiary is up to date with tax and social security obligations, including the Municipal Treasury. The award may be voided in the event that the works presented, in the opinion of the Advisory Board, are deemed not worthy of it. The works awarded with the first and second prize will become the property of the Cariñena City Council, which reserves the right over them. Likewise, the City Council reserves all rights to disseminate and reproduce all awarded works, the transfer of which will be made by the author free of charge. 4.- Characteristics of the works: technique and format The works presented must meet the following characteristics: -The technique will be of free choice. -The theme will be about viticulture (wine, winery, harvest, vine, vineyard landscape, etc...) -The work will be presented without a frame or, at most, with a simple wooden strip whose width does not exceed 2 cm. -The dimensions, not including the ribbon, may not be less than 65 cm, nor greater than 130 cm. on any of its sides. -Works without a frame will not be admitted. -It is an essential condition that the work is dry. -On the back the upper part of the box will be indicated by a clearly visible arrow. -The work must be unsigned, and only once the verdict of the ruling has been read, the winners will be able to sign their works. 5.- Presentation conditions The admission period will begin from the day following the publication of these Rules in the Official Gazette of the Province and will end on August 29, 2025. The work may be presented in person, or sent by a transport agency or by any other means, from door to door at your own expense and risk, with shipping paid both on delivery and return, with packaging capable of guaranteeing the good condition of the work, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday, except holidays, at the following address: MUNICIPAL OFFICES. CARIÑENA (Zaragoza) Tel.: 654623849 / E-mail: cultura@carinena.es The following documentation will be presented with the work: -In a separate envelope* (indicating the title of the work on the outside of the envelope) -Request for participation (Annex 1) -Photocopy of the DNI or passport -Artistic CV of the author -Photography of the work in digital format *If the work is presented packaged, the envelope must go on the outside of the packaging and never inside. -Attached to the back of the work: Copy of the Participation Request (Annex 1) In addition, participants must keep a copy of the Participation Request that will serve to accredit them when they go to pick up the work. The Cariñena City Council will take the utmost care in the care and protection of each of the works, but will not be liable for losses, breakages, thefts, theft or damages, due to force majeure or any other cause beyond its control, both in the acts of reception and return and during the time in which they are in its custody. The insurance that would like to be carried out will be the responsibility of each of the participants. 6.- Selection, awards ceremony and exhibition An Assessment Commission will be appointed
