Official description of the call
First.- Beneficiaries. People over 18 years of age may participate in the contest without distinction of origin. Second.-Object. The purpose of this grant is to establish the rules for the granting, on a competitive basis, of the María Luisa Castellanos Literary Prize, on Asturian emigration in its entirety, which will award narrative, lyrical and theatrical works, as a way of projecting the phenomenon of emigration and return. Third.-Regulatory bases. Resolution of May 15, 2025, of the Ministry of the Presidency, Demographic Challenge, Equality and Tourism by which the regulatory bases of the María Luisa Castellanos Literary Award were approved (BOPA no. 103 of 5-30-2025). Fourth.-Categories and requirements of the works. The following categories are established: a), Category A: Narrative. b),,Category B: Poetry. c),,Category C: Theater. The works must meet the following requirements: a), Discuss Asturian emigration in its entirety: texts based on real or fictitious events, the phenomenon of return and others associated with emigration, reasons that lead to emigration. b), Be individual, original and unpublished, and be written in Spanish, Asturian or Galician-Asturian. c), Each participant may submit a single work, which must be original and may not have been submitted to any other competition or contest. d), The works will be presented in font size 11, Times New Roman, on one side, numbered, spacing 1.5. e), The name or signature of the author may not appear on any page of the work. f),,At the top of the first page the title of the work must appear. g),,The maximum length of the works will be 40 pages written on one side only. Fifth.-Amount. The global amount of the 2025 call amounts to 6,000 euros, with the following distribution: ",,First prize: 3,000.00 euros plus diploma.",,Second prize: 2,000.00 euros plus diploma. ",,Third prize: 1,000 euros plus diploma Sixth.-Deadline for submitting applications. Forty-five (45) business days counting from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias. Seventh.-Other information of interest.
