Official description of the call
First. Call. In order to value and stimulate the work of its research staff, the University of Huelva, at the initiative of the Vice-Rector's Office for Transfer and Territorial Development, and in accordance with the provisions of article 73 of the Budget Execution Bases of the University of Huelva for the financial year 2025, and the Caja Rural Chair of Family Business, announces the V Edition of the “José Luis García Palacios” Research Excellence Awards focused on recognition to the research career of the Teaching and Research Staff of the University of Huelva. This call for awards is included within the Strategic Subsidies Plan of the University of Huelva 2025-2027 (approved by the Government Council on January 29, 2025) with the code PES-UHU/2025/36.ógica fair (which includes the objective of this call is the granting of two Awards for Research Excellence in recognition of the research career of the Teaching and Research Staff from the University of Huelva in two major areas of knowledge: • Science and Technology • Social Sciences and Humanities) Second. Regulatory Bases. Included in the same call. Regulatory bases for research excellence “José Luis García Palacios” of the Caja Rural Chair of Family Business of the University of Huelva. Third. Financing. The modalities and prizes awarded will be: • Award for Research Excellence in the area of Science and Technology. ▪ Financial award: 3,500 euros. • Award for Research Excellence in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities. ▪ Financial award: 3,500 euros. The corresponding tax withholding in each case will be applied to the amount of each of the Prizes. The prizes will be individual and cannot be shared by more than one person. The budget item allocated to the payment of these prizes will be: Expenditure center 80017005 - program 321A – economic classification 483.00: 7,000 euros. Room. Beneficiaries. Those members of the Teaching and Research Staff who meet the following requirements may participate in this call: • Possess Spanish nationality or nationality from a member country of the European Union or be a foreign person residing in Spain. • Be permanently linked to the University of Huelva at the time the candidacy for the Award is proposed. • Have at least four six-year periods of research recognized, the last of which is still alive. • Comply with the deadlines and other provisions established in this call. The concession is carried out on a competitive basis. The following will be assessed as criteria to establish and measure the research excellence of the candidates for the award: • The impact of scientific and academic publications, based on the main bibliometric indices available that best adapt to the candidate's specific area of work (60%). • The academic impact, dissemination and scope of the candidate's research, based on his or her participation, mainly by invitation, in conferences, meetings and different international and national events; stays in prestigious centers and awards or distinctions received (30%). • The social impact of the candidate's research, understood as the influence in the non-academic field of the candidate's results and career (10%). Fifth. Application submission deadline. The period for submitting applications will be open until ten days after the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (B.O.J.A.), counting from the day after its publication.
