The object of this call is the regulation of the XXXI José Nogales International Short Story Prize, which aims to promote and encourage literary production in the field of narrative, in accordance with the powers legally attributed to the Provincial Council. Legal regime. General subsidy ordinance of the Provincial Council of Huelva (Official Gazette of the Province of Huelva no. 136 of July 18, 2016) (See more in section 2 of the call) Beneficiaries. 1. All national and foreign writers who wish to do so and comply with this call may attend the XXXI Edition of the José Nogales International Short Story Prize, except for the winners of previous editions. 2. Each author will present a maximum of three stories or short stories. (See more in section 3 of the call). Texts.1. The stories, with a free theme and written in the Spanish language, will be original, unpublished and not presented – with the same or different title – to any other contest pending resolution. 2. Texts generated in whole or in part through the use of artificial intelligence tools or those that incorporate fragments produced by said technologies will not be admitted. 2. The works will be presented in triplicate; line spacing, 1.5; font, Arial size 12; printed on one side only. The length will not exceed 15 pages nor will it be less than 8. Prize. Total budget and budget application. 1. A single prize of six thousand euros (€6,000.00) is established for the winning story. This amount will be charged to the budget for the year 2026, within the organic unit where the Culture Service is located, taking into account the possibility contemplated in article 56 of Regulation 887/2006, of July 21, of the General Law of Subsidies and in relation to article 47 of the General Budget Law, on advance processing, being conditional on the effective approval of the Budgets of the Provincial Council of Huelva. for the year 2026, and the inclusion in them of an item created for this purpose. A selection procedure is established that will be carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with the provisions of article 22 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies. Deadline for submitting applications and deadlines. 1. The submission period will end 60 calendar days after publication in the BOP of Huelva, the deadline beginning the day after the publication of the Presidential Resolution approving this call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huelva. 2. Applications will be sent exclusively by postal mail to the Culture Service (Publications and Library) of Diputación de Huelva C/ Fernando el Católico, 20. 21001 Huelva (Spain), indicating on the envelope the XXXI José Nogales International Short Story Award. 3. The texts will be presented unsigned. They may not contain data that allows identifying the authorship of the work in the text or in the properties of the document.
