REGULATORY RULES FOR THE CALL AND CELEBRATION OF THE VAL DO DUBRA 2026 CARNIVAL COSTUME CONTEST: FIRST.- Purpose The Department of Culture of the Val do Dubra City Council calls for the costume contest to be held, within the activities and shows of Carnival 2026, on February 14, 2026. SECOND.- Modalities The contest It will include the modalities detailed below: “Comparsa” category. It must be made up of at least 5 people over 14 years of age. Girls and boys may participate in this category as long as the number of members over 14 years of age is greater than the number of participants under 13 years of age. “Couples” category. Registered couples will not be able to participate in other modalities. “Individual” category. People registered in this modality will not be able to participate in the other modalities. THIRD.- Place, location and conditions of development of the contest The Contest will consist of a parade on the 14th, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the following route: Campo de la Feria de Bembibre, C Rúa da Corredoira, Rúa Os Muíños, Rúa Arcai passing in front of the Town Hall House until reaching the place of the final event, which in this case will be a tent located in the parking lot, between Calle San Lourenzo and the parallel to the Arcai Street. The location may be modified due to inclement weather, meaning that the parade could not be held and would have to be moved to the Municipal Pavilion. Both throughout the parade and in the tent, where the participants will be able to do some type of representation/performance/acting alluding to the costume, the jury members will evaluate the costumes and issue their verdict once the dance scheduled for the event is over. FOURTH.- Registrations Registrations to participate in the contest will begin when the rules are published in the BOP and will end on February 12. They can be done through the electronic headquarters or in the General Registry of the Val do Dubra City Council. Registrations will be made according to the models and criteria that appear as: Annex I. “Comparsas” modality. Annex II. “Couples” mode. Annex III. “Individual” mode. FIFTH.- Prizes The prizes established for this contest, and which will be awarded according to the verdict issued by the jury created for this purpose, will be the following: INDIVIDUAL COUPLE COMPARSAS 1st PRIZE €900 1st PRIZE €200 1st PRIZE €150 2nd PRIZE €700 2nd PRIZE €150 2nd PRIZE €100 3rd PRIZE €300 3rd PRIZE €80 3rd PRIZE €50 SIXTH.- Competition jury. Composition and evaluation criteria The evaluation criteria of the contest will be determined by the jury located at the same place as the contest, both parade and performance, dance, performance at the event location. The presentation/parade of each participant may not exceed one minute of dance/exhibition. The 1-minute audios must be sent to: cultura.deportes@valdodubra.gal indicating the artistic name of the troupe, couple or individual costume. The members of the jury will score the following criteria from 1 to 5 points: Originality of the costume Staging and setting during the journey Dressing The float will be valued with a lower score, from 1 to 2 points, since we consider that it is an added value to the performance and the entire costume so as not to distort the character of the contest and guarantee equality between participants with and without a float. Any prize may be declared void if, in the opinion of the jury itself, sufficient merit is not met. The composition of the jury will be as follows: PRESIDENCY: To be determined MEMBERS: Representatives of the Anpas, Rural Women, ... SECRETARIAT: Technical or administrative staff assigned to the Department of Culture who will act with voice and without vote, or person to whom it is delegated. SEVENTH.- Resolution of the contest The resolution of the contest, in accordance with the verdict issued by the jury, will be made public at the end of the contest at the venue, with an indication of the distribution of the prizes foreseen in the different modalities or, where appropriate, of those that may have been deserted. EIGHTH.- Observations The Department of Culture will be empowered to resolve, in accordance with its powers, any possible eventualities or controversies that may arise and not provided for in these bases.
