Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries Natural persons of legal age, of Spanish nationality or of the member states of the European Union and of the signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area may apply for the aid of this call, as well as foreigners who meet and accredit the following requirements at the time of submitting the application: - Meet the general requirements of this call and the specific requirements established in the descriptive sheet of the research institute, national center, technical unit, PTI or scientific network/CSIC connection to which you opt. request. - Be enrolled in the 20205/2026 academic year in a university degree or in an official double university degree of those indicated in each descriptive sheet that you opt for in your application and have passed, at least, 50% of the “European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System” (hereinafter, ECTS) credits or be enrolled in an official university master's degree of those indicated in the descriptive sheet that you opt for in your application in the academic year 2025-2026 or 2026-2027. - Accredit an average grade or bachelor's degree on a decimal scale from 0 to 10 and with 2 decimal places, equal to or higher than what is indicated in the descriptive sheet of the research institute, national center, technical unit, PTI or scientific network/connection that is requested. - Not being in possession or legally able to obtain a Doctorate academic degree. - Not having been a beneficiary of a scholarship from any JAE program in previous calls. Second. Purpose The purpose of this resolution is to approve the call for the JAE Intro ICU scholarships for the year 2026 within the framework of the Jinta Program for the Expansion of Studies. Up to a maximum of 441 introductory research scholarships are called for university students with a high level of academic performance. The number of scholarships finally awarded, as well as their duration, will be subject to the budgetary availability of the research institutes, national centers, technical units, PTI and scientific networks/connections of the CSIC. The training plan derived from the granting of these scholarships will be developed in the research groups of the CSIC research institutes framed in the three global areas (Life, Society and Matter), under the direction of the responsible research staff. Third. Regulatory bases The scholarships object of this call are subject to the regulatory bases contained in Order CIN/895/2022, of September 12, published in the Official State Gazette of September 16, 2022, which updates the "Board for the Expansion of Studies" Program and approves the regulatory bases for the granting of scholarships for the formation of the State Agency Higher Council for Scientific Research. Room. Amount The scholarship will be considered financial aid for training. The total amount of the aid and the number of monthly payments in which it will be paid is indicated in each descriptive sheet of each research institute, national center, technical unit, PTI or scientific network/connection, and will be paid monthly. Social Security contributions will be accrued from the amount. The development of this program is subject to the budgetary availability of the research institutes, national centers, technical units, PTI or scientific networks/connections of the CSIC. The maximum amount allocated to this program is 2,112,950.00 euros. If necessary, the temporary suspension or modification of the contributions corresponding to this program may be approved. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will be one month, with only two periods open for submission. The first will begin one day after the publication of this call and the second will be in September 2026. The aid from each research institute, national center, technical unit, PTI or scientific network/connection will be offered only in one of the two established periods, according to the one they have determined in each case. Applications will be completed only using the telematic application https://www.convocatorias.csic.es/convoca/, available at the CSIC electronic headquarters (https://sede.csic.gob.es/icu2026).
