Edict of the Council of Mallorca on the approval of the call for aid to promote the use of the Catalan language to non-profit entities for the year 2026 BDNS: 887033 The first vice president and executive advisor of Culture and Heritage, in exercise of the delegation of the Executive Council dated 05/28/25 (BOIB no. 69, of 05/31/25) and considering it an act of the Executive Council, on February 12, 2026, adopted the following resolution, which I transcribe, literally, below: Approve the call for aid to promote the use of the Catalan language to non-profit entities for the year 2026 that is annexed to this resolution. Authorize an expense of €180,000.00 under budget application 20.33450.78900 (RC reference number 22026000801) to meet the subsidies of the aforementioned call. Order its publication in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands and in the National Subsidies Database. Filing of appeals Against the resolution that approves this call, as well as against the resulting concession resolution, which do not put an end to the administrative procedure, you can file an appeal within a period of one month, counting from the day after the resolution has been published or the corresponding notification has been received. The appeal can be filed formally before the Executive Council or before the Government Commission of the Island Council of Mallorca, which is the competent body to resolve it. Against the express dismissal of this appeal, you can file the contentious-administrative appeal before the corresponding Contentious Administrative Court of Palma, within a period of two months, counting from the day after receiving the notification of the dismissal of said appeal. If three months have passed since the appeal was filed and you have not received notification of the express resolution, it is deemed to have been rejected due to silence and you can file the contentious-administrative appeal before the corresponding Contentious Administrative Court of Palma, without time limitation. Notwithstanding the above, you may file, if appropriate, any other resource that you consider appropriate. All of this in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating contentious administrative jurisdiction, and Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations. Call for aid to promote the use of the Catalan language to non-profit entities for the year 2026 FIRST. Regulations The regulatory bases for this call are included in the general subsidy ordinance of the Island Council of Mallorca and the autonomous bodies that depend on it (BOIB no. 21, of February 18, 2017), modified by agreement of the Plenary of June 14, 2018 (BOIB no. 96, of August 4, 2018). This call is in accordance with RD 2/2005, of December 28, which approves the Consolidated Text of the CAIB Subsidy Law (BOIB no. 196, of December 31, 2005). SECOND. Purposes The driving and planning role of public institutions to ensure the success of the linguistic normalization process is essential, but one of the essential mechanisms is the involvement of the largest possible number of social sectors and the collective commitment of all the actors in this process. The Department of Culture and Heritage of the Council of Mallorca announces this line of subsidies and is committed to promoting the Catalan language with a double objective: Increase the presence of Catalan in the linguistic landscape that makes up non-profit entities. Guarantee the right to enjoy an environment in which the environmental presence of Catalan invites citizens to use this language normally; the right to receive general information in Catalan, and the right to receive the rest of the documents related to the entities in Catalan. THIRD.
