Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries Natural persons with Spanish nationality who present artistic and manual works that comply with the provisions of the call. Each participant may only attend with one bound work. Second. Object The work proposed for binding will be “Subversive Canons” by Gonzalo Celorio, “Miguel de Cervantes” Literature Prize in the Spanish Language 2025. Third. Regulatory bases The regulatory bases by which this contest is governed were established through Order CUL/255/2008, of January 28, published in the BOE number 33, dated February 7, 2008. Fourth. Formalization of the request 4.1. The deadline for formalizing applications will be 15 business days from the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official State Gazette. 4.2. Applications must be addressed to the person in charge of the General Director of Books and Reading Promotion, and may be submitted to the Registry of the Ministry of Culture, located at Plaza del Rey number 1 (28004-Madrid), to the General Electronic Registry of the General Administration of the State (https://sede.administracion.gob.es/PAG_Sede/ServiciosElectronicos/RegistroElectronicoGeneral.htm), as well as to any other Registry of the Administration or Organizations referred to in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. 4.3. To formalize the application, the applicant must present Annex I of the call resolution. Annexes II, III, IV and V will be presented later, accompanying the bound work. 4.4. Once the application has been registered, when the General Subdirectorate for the Promotion of Books, Reading and Spanish Literature receives said documentation, it will send a blank copy (folded into booklets) of the book to be bound, if the address of the application is located outside the city of Madrid. Otherwise, the applicant may pick up the copy in bulk, after making an appointment at the email address comercial.encuadernados@cultura.gob.es, at Santiago Rusiñol Street, 8 (28040 Madrid), up to 15 days before the end of the delivery period for the bound work. Fifth. Amount The maximum global amount of this Prize will be 12,000 euros, which will be carried out under budget application 24.03.334B.481.18 of the General State Budgets of 2026. Three prizes will be awarded with the following amounts: a) first prize, 6,000 euros; b) second prize, 4,000 euros; c) third prize, 2,000 euros. The amount of each of the prizes cannot be divided. Sixth. Deadline for submission of bound works and documentation. 6.1.Once the work is bound, the contestant must present, along with the bound and properly packaged work, the rest of the annexes to the call resolution (II, III, IV and V), all in an anonymous package and through an escrow system, which includes: - A description of the binding. - The personal data of the interested party (name and surname, address, telephone number and email address). 6.2. This documentation must be addressed to the person in charge of the General Directorate of Books, Comics and Reading, and may be presented in the Registry of the Ministry of Culture as well as in any other Registry of the Administration or Organizations referred to in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The escrow will be opened by the Jury once the ruling has been issued, in order to know the identity of the award-winning bookbinders. 6.3. The deadline for submitting annexes II to V, together with the bound works, will end on September 1, 2026. 6.4. In accordance with current regulations, both the application forms and the rest of the documentation must be submitted in Spanish.
