Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries: All persons or entities who wish to participate, who have registered correctly according to these rules and in the forms established by the Department of Popular Festivals and Traditions, may participate. At least one of the members of the charanga must be of legal age. Regarding groups without a legal entity, the provisions of article 1 of these rules will be followed. Second. Purpose: The Department of Popular Festivals and Traditions is intended for the management and organization of all social festivities. Its main function is to guarantee their correct development, as well as to encourage citizen participation in these festive events. The intention of this contest is to energize the Historic Center. Third. Regulatory Bases: Agreement of the Local Government Board of February 20, 2026, published on the website www.aytoalcaladehenares.es Fourth. Amount: The total accumulated amount of prizes amounts to €3,900: - First prize: €2,000 - Second prize: €1,000 - Third prize: €500 - Prize for Best Megaphone: €100 - Prize for Best Brass: €100 - Prize for Best Woodwind: €100 - Prize for Best Percussion: €100 All participating brass bands will simply receive €300 for participating. The awards may be declared void if, in the opinion of the jury, the brass bands do not meet the minimum necessary quality. The amount of the prizes will be received by the holder stated in the Jury Minutes. The financial prizes will be subject to tax withholdings in accordance with current legislation. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications: Participants must register for the Contest from the day following their registration in the National Subsidies Base until June 15, 2026 through the Electronic Office (https://sede.ayto-alcaladehenares.es/sta/CarpetaPublic/doEvent?APP_CODE=STA&PAGE_CODE=CATALOGO) attaching the completed ANNEX I (with a copy of the I protect the email cfiestas@ayto-alcaladehenares.es). Sixth. Other information: The contest will be held on September 26, 2026 in the town of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). Each charanga will be composed of a minimum of 8 members. Those that contain a number less than the indicated one will be excluded. The maximum number of participating brass bands will be 5. The registered brass bands will be informed of their registration number in strict order of arrival of the registrations to the Electronic Headquarters of the Excmo. Alcalá de Henares City Council and its participation in the contest. If there are more than 5 bands registered, they will be informed by the organization of their “reservation” status. Any change in status will be notified in good time. The City Council reserves the right to use the graphic material resulting from the event (photographs, videos or other audiovisual materials), which in no case will be used for profit, commercial or illicit purposes. The contest will consist of a parade in the morning through the streets of the Historic Center. The duration of the performances of each brass band, during the Grand Final, will be a maximum of 20 minutes on stage. In the event that a charanga exceeds these established minutes, the jury will no longer take into account the remaining minutes. The Jury may disqualify any charanga if it understands that it refers to any type of discrimination based on sex, age, religion, race, social origin, disability, ethnic or national origin, and understands that it exceeds the limits of humor or the limit of freedom of expression. No person may participate in more than one charanga during the duration of the contest.
