Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries Natural persons of legal age, of Spanish nationality or of the member states of the European Union and of the signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as well as foreigners who meet and accredit the following requirements at the time of submitting the application, may apply for aid under this call: - Be enrolled in an Official Degree of 240 “European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System” (hereinafter ECTS) in the academic year. 2025-2026 and have at least 180 ECTS passed in that Degree. - Be enrolled in an Official Degree or Double Degree of 300 ECTS or more, in the 2025-2026 academic year, and have passed at least 240 ECTS in that Degree or Double Degree. - Have completed the Degree and be enrolled in an Official University Master's Degree during the 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 academic year. - According to Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the quality assurance procedure: Accredit an average grade or bachelor's degree, on a decimal scale of 0-10 and with 2 decimal places, equal to or greater than 7.50 for all areas of knowledge. Applicants who have not completed their degree studies must prove these average grades for the ECTS passed until the date of submission of their application, within the application submission period. - Not being in possession or legally able to obtain a Doctorate academic degree. - Not having been a beneficiary of any JAE program scholarship in previous calls. Second. Purpose The purpose of this resolution is to approve the call for JAE INTRO scholarships for the year 2026 within the framework of the Board Program for the Expansion of Studies. 240 introductory research scholarships are being called for university students, which will allow them to carry out a stay in one of the research groups that carry out their work in the different research structures that the CSIC has (hereinafter, EI), where the scientific and technical activity of the CSIC is carried out, such as research institutes, national centers, Interdisciplinary Thematic Platforms and scientific networks/connections of the CSIC. The distribution of the JAE scholarships will be as follows: - 40 scholarships aimed at university students who wish to get started in AI projects (JAE INTRO Momentum). - 200 scholarships of which 90 will be for the Life global area, 60 for the Subject global area and 50 for the Society global area (JAE INTRO ORGC). Third. Regulatory bases The scholarships object of this call are subject to the regulatory bases contained in Order CIN/895/2022, of September 12, published in the Official State Gazette of September 16, 2022, which updates the "Board for the Expansion of Studies" Program and approves the regulatory bases for the granting of scholarships for the formation of the State Agency Higher Council for Scientific Research. Room. Amount The maximum total amount allocated to this program amounts to 1,138,000 euros charged to budget application 28V340.463AF, from the expense budget of the State Agency CSIC, M.P. for the year 2026, or equivalents from subsequent years, without prejudice to the provisions of section 1.1. of Article 1 of this call. If necessary, the temporary suspension or modification of the contributions corresponding to this program may be approved. The scholarships will be considered financial aid for training. The total amount of each scholarship amounts to 4,200 euros and will be paid monthly, comprising 7 monthly payments of 600 euros. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will be one month, counting from the day following the date of publication of the extract of the call in the Official State Gazette (BOE). A single application will be formalized for each candidate, in which a single global area of ​​the CSIC (Life, Society or Matter) will be selected to which the application must be assigned in the case of the JAE-INTRO and/or JAE INTRO Momentum scholarships, in the case of assigning the application to this last modality. Applications will be completed only using the telematic application https://www.convocatorias.csic.es/convoca/, available at the electronic office.
