APPROVAL OF THE CALL FOR THE GRANTING OF SUBSIDIES UNDER A REGIME OF COMPETITIVE COMPETITION AIMED AT THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC UTILITY PROJECTS, ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES OF SOCIAL INTEREST YEAR 2026 OF THE CULTURE PROGRAM (EXP. 6712/2026)

Official description of the call

By agreement of the Local Government Board 12/2026, of March 24, the call for the granting of subsidies under a competitive competition regime aimed at promoting public utility projects, activities and services of social interest for the year 2026 of the Culture Program is approved. On December 20, 2023, the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council for the years 2024-2027 was approved by mayoral decree DEC/6003/2023. Specifically, strategic line 5 aims, in the field of culture: Prioritize and democratize education, culture, sports and leisure policies such as those for social transformation -Work collaboratively to position Sant Cugat as a benchmark city in inclusive and equitable quality education. -Normalize financial support and resources in educational matters. -Strengthen cultural, sports and leisure policies by democratizing access, promoting diversity by promoting the associative fabric. -Update the network of cultural, leisure and sports equipment -Promote and encourage physical activity and sports, accessible and inclusive to all citizens. On March 18, 2024, by agreement adopted by the Plenary in the session AJT/PLENO/4/2024, the general bases for the granting of subsidies under a competitive competition regime aimed at promoting public utility projects, activities and services of social interest 2024-2027 are approved. Culture Program. (exp. 5911/2024), published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on April 17, 2024, CVE 202410070688. These general bases contain the essential details of their processing and the documentation common to all the calls they regulate. Natural or legal persons who meet the requirements established in the eighth base of the General Bases are eligible for subsidies. The concurrence of the requirements will be accredited at the time of submitting the application, through the presentation of the documents indicated in the twelfth base of the general bases. The projects, activities and cultural services to be subsidized will have to be related to one of the following areas and modalities: 1. Literature. Promotion of reading and complementary activities. Projects to support and promote reading, spaces for reflection, poetry, literary initiatives, etc. 2. Artistic, graphic, visual projects... Support for projects, samples and activities of visual and plastic arts. 3. Heritage, history and knowledge. Research projects, promotion and dissemination of cultural heritage and local history, dissemination of knowledge as a tool for transformation, etc. 4. Parties in the neighborhoods. Support for proposals that generate social cohesion in the different neighborhoods of the city through small festivals or specific celebrations. 5. Popular and traditional culture. Projects, celebrations and activities linked to popular and traditional culture. 6. Music, performing and audiovisual arts. Support for festivals and musical, performing arts (theater, dance,...) and audiovisual (cinema, video...) projects to be developed in the city. 7. Culture of proximity, social transformation and diversity. Support for projects to promote cultural associations and projects that value diversity. In line with this public purpose and with the approved General Bases, the approval of the call under a competitive competition regime aimed at promoting public utility projects, activities and services of social interest in the year 2026 of the Culture Program is proposed. The competence for the adoption of this agreement corresponds to the mayor's office in accordance with article 21.1.f) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of local government and article 53.1.uno) of Legislative Decree 2/2003, of April 28, by which the consolidated Text of the Municipal and Local Government Law of Catalonia is approved. However, this power has been delegated to the Local Government Board by Mayoral Decree No. 6594/2025, of December 1, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona, ​​of December 11, 2025.
