Official description of the call

First. Object. The object is to hold a musical composition contest in order to promote musical culture in general and band culture in particular in the municipality, expand its musical heritage, provide composers with the possibility that their music can be performed, heard and disseminated and capture through music a vision of the city, as well as spread the name of Badajoz throughout the Spanish geography. Second. Recipients. This call is aimed at authors over 18 years of age of any nationality with tax residence in Spain. Authors who have been awarded in the last two editions of this award will not be able to participate. In any case, people who, meeting the specific participation requirements established in the call, are subject to any of the causes of prohibitions to obtain the status of beneficiaries established in article 13 of Law 38/2003 General Subsidies will not be able to obtain the status of beneficiaries. Likewise, they must be up to date in compliance with their tax obligations before the State Tax Administration Agency, the Treasury of the Autonomous Community and the Badajoz City Council, as well as with the Third Social Security Treasury. Each composer may present only one work. They must be original and unpublished, understood as those that are newly created, that are not a copy, modification or version of another or other existing ones. The Hon. Badajoz City Council is exempt from any liability derived from plagiarism or any other transgression of current legislation on intellectual property in Spain, which the contestants may incur with their works. The compositions must capture a specific musical vision or image, being the theme on which the composition will be “A CRISTÓBAL OUDRID”.
