Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries: Work carried out by researchers, individually or by a research team, related to studies on Women and sexist discrimination from any academic discipline with a gender focus will be accepted and the originality of the topic, the application of innovative methodology, scientific rigor and the well-founded analysis of the documentation used in the work presented will be valued. Second. Purpose: The Department of Equality of the Hon. Alcalá de Henares City Council, through the Women's Advisory Center, includes among its objectives the support and dissemination of studies on women and on inequalities based on sex, carried out by researchers and/or researchers from different academic disciplines. The purpose of this call is to promote and reward research related to studies on Women and sexist discrimination from any academic discipline with a gender focus. Third. Regulatory Bases: Agreement of the Local Government Board of May 15, 2026, published on the website: www.aytoalcaladehenares.es Fourth. Amount: A single Prize is established with a prize of 4,000 euros. This amount will be understood to include authorship rights. In the event that the jury considers that there is a second work that deserves to be awarded, the Hon. Alcalá de Henares City Council may decide its edition and publication, without this entailing any financial contribution in any case. Fifth. Deadline for submission of applications: The award will be biennial. The Deadline for submitting works will begin the day following the registration of the call in the National Subsidies Database (approximately June 6) and will end on October 31, 2026. Sixth. Other information: Work requirements: Individual or collective authorship. The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted as long as they are not used to generate entirely and exclusively the writing of the work, data analysis or conclusions. If AI systems are used, it must be explicitly declared in file A. Originality: the work must be strictly unpublished, not previously awarded or subject to editing commitment or available, in whole or in part. Language: the works must necessarily be written in Spanish. Format: PDF, main text font Arial 11 and footnotes or other legends Arial 9, single spacing, “justified” alignment and 3 cm margins. Length: the central body will have a minimum of 120 and a maximum of 300 pages. This calculation will not include the index, bibliography or documentary annexes/appendices which, if they exist, will not occupy more than 50 pages. The request will be made through the electronic headquarters of the Alcalá de Henares City Council and the following documents will be attached in PDF format: File A: Document with personal data (specified in the “presentation of the investigations” section of the Bases), Curriculum vitae of the author or people participating in the work and synopsis of the work of a maximum length of 2 pages. File B: Anonymized work. The same research work may not appear in more than two editions. In the latter case, the edition number and year in which it was presented will be specified in file A seen above. The award-winning work will be published by the Hon. Alcalá de Henares City Council, which will publish 500 copies, giving 100 of them to the winner. The jury's decision will be communicated personally to the winner or representative of the Team. As of April 30, 2027, those who have participated will be able to consult the results by contacting the Department of Equality by telephone or email. The award ceremony will take place on June 6, 2027, coinciding with the anniversary of María Isidra de Guzmán's doctorate. During the event, the printed edition of the award-winning work will be presented.
