On June 2, 2026, with number 2864, the following resolution was adopted: CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION SUBJECT: APPROVAL RULES fiscal year 2026 of €2,400 with RC 202620004626000. Considering that the Department of Youth plans to continue with the traditional short film contest that has been held in 14 editions previously and which aims to promote artistic creation among young people as well as the taste for the enjoyment of artistic works by the population. Given that the short film competition and the festival-show derived from it is a good way to encourage creation and artistic hobby in a regulated manner through the rules included below: RULES OF THE COMPETITION OF THE FIFTEENTH EDITION OF THE establish six sections: A/ National Section B/ “Mirades des d’Ací” Section, within the scope of the Valencian Community C/ Cortos no short film will be accepted. Each participant can present a maximum of 2 works. The works must have been carried out during the years 2025 or 2026. The maximum duration will be 30 minutes, including credits. Fiction, documentary, animation and experimental works are accepted. Works with pornographic content will be rejected, as well as those that exalt or promote discrimination based on race, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, etc. In the National Section, the short films presented may have been previously released or awarded at any other national or international event and, therefore, their unpublished nature is not necessary. To register in the “Mirades des d’Ací” Section it is necessary that the director (or directors) of the work be born or reside in the Valencian Community or that the production company has its registered office in this community. To prove this fact, the organization reserves the right to eventually request documentary evidence, although this is not a requirement for registration. Each short film can be entered in only one section. This point is particularly important for Valencian short films, which can be entered, at the discretion of the authors, in the National Section or in the “Mirades des d’Ací” Section, but never in both at the same time. This last point is grounds for disqualification. However, the organization reserves the right to propose, with the express authorization of the authors, a change of section of the short film, if it deems appropriate. The dialogues must be in Spanish or Valencian/Catalan. Otherwise, subtitles in either of these two languages must be incorporated/attached. The Festival organization is excluded from all responsibility for any irregularity regarding the content or authorship of the works presented. The submission of the works for selection, together with the additional material (optional in any case, and consisting of a press kit, trailer, etc.) will be carried out exclusively through any of the following platforms: Festhome, Movibeta or Clickforfestivals. It is up to the participants to choose which platform to use, since the same treatment will be given to all short films received, regardless of the platform chosen. In any case, the organization will be excluded from the requirements that each of the platforms requests for its own operation, which are unrelated to XS Puçol's own standards, since the latter are fully included in these bases. Any of the short films submitted to the National Section and the “Mirades des d’Ací” Section can be selected to be part of any of the non-competitive sections of the festival.
