Call for the XXXI School Drawing Contest of the Ciudad de Alzira Literary Awards 2026.

Official description of the call

First. Purpose: The purpose of these awards is to promote artistic creativity and make known the existence of the City of Alzira Literary Awards among the students of our city, both in Early Childhood Education, 5 years old, Primary, and Secondary, Baccalaureate and training cycles and Special Education. The motto for this call is "A trip to the past: ancient Al-Gezira." The Muslim population resided on the island of Xúquer from the 9th to the 13th centuries. The City was surrounded by walls, narrow streets predominated inside. It also had the famous Arab baths, markets and mosques... as well as a very rich cultural city (poets, doctors, philosophers...). With the arrival of James I on December 30, 1248 to the city, little by little it was transformed by the influence of Christian culture and the power of the Second Crown of Aragon. Beneficiaries: All students in the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, Training Cycles and Special Education from public, subsidized and private centers in Alzira can participate in this contest, with individual or collective work. Third. Regulatory bases: The Plenary Session of the Alzira City Council, in the session held on January 29, 2020, has definitively approved the General Subsidies Ordinance of the Alzira City Council, which contains the regulatory bases of the procedure for the granting of subsidies by this City Council, and the full text of the same has been published in the Official Gazette of the province of Valencia No. 29, dated February 12, 2020. Fourth. Application submission deadline: The submission deadline will be from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province until October 22, 2026. Fifth.- Maximum total amount of the subsidies called: The maximum total amount of the subsidies called will be 1,050 euros, charged to the budget application 3261 48001 of the Department of Education and Childhood of the year 2026, of the Budget of the Alzira City Council for the year 2026. For each of these seven categories, three prizes will be awarded, awarded by the Department of Education and Childhood of the Alzira City Council. The first prize of €60, the second of €50 and the third of €40. The works are classified into the following categories: • Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education, 5 years • First Cycle of Primary Education • Second Cycle of Primary Education • Third Cycle of Primary Education • Compulsory Secondary Education • Baccalaureate and Training Cycles • Special Education (students from Special Education centers or ordinary centers with ACIS) There will also be a Special Prize, a selection of titles from Ediciones Bromera, for the center that has participated with the greatest proportional number of participation, in relation to their actual enrollment, and that, in addition, in the opinion of the jury, has best represented the topic of the call overall. Sixth.- Documentation: 1. The works presented can freely use any plastic material or technique: pencil, markers, wood paints, crayons, watercolors, tempera paint, oil, mosaic, collage, etc., and will avoid including elements that can be easily detached. 2. Thematically, the drawings must adapt to the motto proposed as the title of this year's call: "A trip to the past: ancient Al-Gezira." The time has come to take paper, lots of colors, pencils and a pinch of imagination to recreate them and participate. Imagine that you could revisit medieval Alzira and what you would find. Draw a drawing of the ancient city and/or some of its inhabitants that show the coexistence of the two cultures. 3. The size of the work must be in DIN A4 format, horizontally or vertically, and strong paper or cardboard of the same size must be used as support, without margins. Work will not be taken into account
