Official description of the call

First.- Beneficiaries Individual researchers, research groups or universities and institutions that promote or finance legal studies in the field of law on the protection of personal data will be eligible for the award. The award is aimed at legal research work carried out in Spain, or in Latin America, that contributes significantly to the development of knowledge about privacy and data protection. Second.- Object Its objective is to reward legal research work on data protection and privacy, recognizing it according to its technical-legal quality, doctrinal and practical contribution, as well as the dissemination of relevant aspects of the Right to the Protection of Personal Data. Third.- Regulatory bases Resolution, of July 8, 2026, of the Spanish Data Protection Agency by which the regulatory bases are approved and the Award for the work of the Data Protection Delegate is announced, for the year 2026, published on the website of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es). Fourth.- Prize The prize consists of a financial prize of three thousand euros (€3,000.00) and a second prize of one thousand five hundred euros (€1,500.00). Likewise, the Jury may propose an award "ex aequo" to two candidates. In this case, neither the prize nor the second prize would be awarded and the financial award, in this case, will be two thousand two hundred and fifty euros (€2,250) for each winning candidate. Likewise, the award may be declared void if it is considered that none of the candidates has sufficient merit to be awarded. In the event that the jury proposes to declare the first prize void, it may propose to award an additional second prize worth one thousand five hundred euros (€1,500.00).
